I like the theory of Gabbert.... not sure he is in reality what we need...

I just can't get past the fact that he threw almost 500 times and yet had only 16 TDs...

That just screams red flag to me...

Let me put you're mind to rest...you can be sure he is not what the team really needs.

It really doesn't matter. Nothing seems to work for the Cards. Other teams draft a QB in the first round and he takes them to a SB win. The Cards draft a QB in the first round and haven't even been able to get one full season out of one since 1960.

But it all goes back to defense. The Cards have only had 2 years where their defense hasn't ranked 20th or lower in one of either points allowed or yards allowed since 1984. 13 of the last 16 years they have ranked 25th or worse in points allowed.

It ain't the QB. We had a nutcase put up the 2nd best record for the Cards since moving to Arizona pre CKW with Steve Beuerlein, Jay Schroeder, and Jim McMahon combining for a 53.3% completion rate and 11TDs to 19 INTs, 8-8 in 1994, with the only top 5 defense the Cards have had since 1961.

2009 he threw 445 times and had 24 TD's 9 picks, that on a bad ankle for a lot of the year.

The difference was the WR's.

One year he had pretty good ones, the next year he did not.

I find myself defending him a lot against comments like this simply because I know better because I'm a Mizzou fan.

Knowing the team like I did I have a much better idea about the why behind his stats.

I'm a pretty harsh critic, I liked the QB before him "Chase Daniel" a ton and he was superior in the spread but in the NFL there's no comparison, Blaine is many orders of magnitude better as an NFL QB and I never thought he was cut out for the spread as much as a pro style offense.
