Not surprising at all.

Petzing does some odd stuff but he absolutely improved Kyler under center. They are going to need to protect / rebuild Caleb after this year.

Not disagreeing but I would imagine they learn more by looking at the all 22 film and seeing if his plays result in guys getting open vs Kyler completing a pass or not seeing the open guys.

If the offense put up bottom 5 stats in offensive categories the whole season, even if it was mostly Kyler’s fault, Petzing would not be getting looked at. Petzing is getting looked at because he engineered a top 12 offense in PPG & total offense.

I get it… but it sure doesn’t “feel” like it with how stagnant it seemed at time especially in the second half of the season.

Conner was a huge piece of the offense's improvement and Drew gets some credit for that imo.

Drew also deserves a lot of praise for having an offensive line that was pretty good all season long, despite numerous and lengthy injuries all along the way.

That would be a dream. Unfortunately he doesn't have any connection with Gannon (as far as I know). Maybe Brian Johnson from the Commanders? Gannon worked with him in Philly. Don't know if being hired as an OC is considered a promotion from being assistant head coach, though. They might be able to block it.

On the other hand we scored less than 18 six or seven times. We lost games allowing 13 and 16 points.
It’s a double edge sword.

i know we dont want to hear it -- but the Cards by nearly every measure had a top 12 offense

it needs to be better on a variety of measures, but there is something to build on here--
