Which Jacksonville Jaguars' free agent signing has the most upside? With 10 outside additions, there are plenty of players to choose from.

Ben Cooper of Pro Football Focus recently selected the free agent signing for each of the 32 NFL teams with the "most upside." For the Jaguars, Cooper selected center Robert Hainsey.

"Hainsey took a backseat to Graham Barton in 2024 and logged only 94 snaps," wrote Cooper. "He had previously shown promise, joining Jason Kelce, Creed Humphrey and Corey Linsley as the only centers to not allow a sack on more than 600 pass-blocking snaps in 2022."

As Cooper mentions, Hainsey was a backup last season, but he does have two years of starting center experience. When it comes to why the Jaguars wanted to bring in Hainsey, as GM James Gladstone highlighted recently, there were two primary reasons.

One was his experience in Liam Coen's offense, and Hainsey's familiarity with the scheme will help take some of the workload off Trevor Lawrence's shoulders. In addition to that, Gladstone really likes Hainsey's play style.

“It was a massive priority, right?" said Gladstone of signing Hainsey. "That's some weight off the shoulders of Trevor at the line of scrimmage, that now because of the familiarity from Robert, he doesn't have to bear as a quarterback."

The Jaguars signed Hainsey to a three-year deal worth $21 million in total.
