It's so weird. Go back to the pre-draft scouting reports on Swope and there's nary a word about concussions or a history of them or anything. Suddenly Swope falls in the draft and it's the first thing that anyone says about him. "Well, you know that he's had four concussions last year..." No, we didn't know that! You never told us.

As I've said before, I watched almost all of Swope's college games. Not only did he never miss a game, I can't recall him ever being pulled from a game either. And, not once did the commentators ever discuss concussions and Swope as far as I can remember.

For an issue bad enough for some teams to take him off their draft boards, it is just bizarre that it never reached the public until just before the draft.

I agree. I'm surprised no NCAA source, doctor, anything said anything. But I wouldn't expect any GMs to give any idea of who will and will not be on their boards

Makes us all wonder how many concussions we might have had 40 yrs ago or more. Besides playing brutal football games in parks in L.A. with no pads or helmets, I have been in over 35 car and motorcycle accidents in my life. Many resulting in stays in the hospital and months of lost memory. I should have worn a helmet 24/7 over my lifetime.

a doctor would lose his license if he said anything in public.

I wish we had some definet information on what is going on .

Info like ; How much time is he missing ?

Is he complaining of symtons , and not feeling right to partisapatein the drills ?

Is this the medical/coaching staff being purposely cautious because because of the concussions ?

Back in Feb. I DVR'd the entire combine , so yesterday I reviewed Swopes 40 dash and all of his drills , everything looked superb in Feb.

Arians said today that Swope is fine and there's no injury reports during OTAs so no disclosure necessary and he said he'll be fine the the future as well.

That's not what was reported on the Cards website:

He was asked about the health of rookie wide receiver Ryan Swope, who was not out there practicing. Teammate Larry Fitzgerald had said in a Sirius NFL radio interview that Swope had been out because of concussion-related issues. Arians did not get specific. “There’s nothing really to report,” Arians said. “We don’t have injury reports this time of year.” Asked if he was concerned about Swope, Arians said “He’ll be fine.”

I heard that interview. Larry said he was having "head" issues. He did not mention concussion, per se. The interview was with Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan. I was surprised they did not ask what he meant by "head" issues.
