General Chaos
Gronko = Man Beast

With what is believed to be somewhere between $4 million and $6 million in cap space available after taking into account the $4.1 million allocation to sign their 2006 rookie crop, our sources in the desert tell us it’s a good bet the Cardinals will try to extend the contracts of one or two key veterans before too long. At the top of the list is SLB Karlos Dansby, who is currently under contract through ’07 and could be on the cusp of a true breakout season as a big-time playmaker. A possible thorn in the bushes is the fact that Dansby is represented by Carl Poston, who has been known to drive a hard bargain. But it’s worth noting that Cardinals VP of football operations Rod Graves has a solid reputation for being able to deal with “difficult” agents such as Poston and Drew Rosenhaus, who represents star WR Anquan Boldin and another possible candidate for a contract extension, DT Darnell Dockett, who will be a restricted free agent after this season.
