Almost all of the PGA Tour's leading earners have made the short trip from Augusta, Ga., to Hilton Head Island, S.C., for the RBC Heritage, which begins on April 17 at the Harbour Town Golf Links.
The name at the top of the list is not. Rory McIlroy, who won the Masters last week to complete the career Grand Slam, is kicking back in Jupiter. Considering the magnitude of his victory, who can blame him for wanting to decompress?
And besides, he doesn't need the money. McIlroy leads second-place Collin Morikawa by more than $7 million, so even if Morikawa wins the RBC Heritage and the $3.6 million first-place check, he'd be well behind McIlroy.
The only other player among the top-42 money leaders not in the RBC field is No. 5 Hideki Matsuyama. After him it's perfect attendance through No. 42 Stephan Jaeger.
There's another Tour event this week, the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic. The field has 14 of the money leaders among the top 100, starting with No. 55 Alex Smalley through No. 98 Kris Ventura
