Too expensive if you ask me. They could have gotten Madsen back for less but somewhere those talks broke down. Don't know if I like this move. Money is best spent elsewhere like on a decent hitter like Cuddeyer or Reyes. If the Phillies go into 2012 with relatively the same offensive lineup, they could get Mariano Rivera to close and it won't matter. The lack of a closer isn't what cost this team in the playoffs. The lack of hitting did...2 years running.
