That's beautiful! Had to laugh in the post-game interview when EJ asked Amare if he wasn't tired -- Amare said no, he could go another game.

Maybe somebody should make that pic a signature and spend some time on the Mavs board...... Seems only fair.

Throughout the season I have seen 5 different suns players attempt alleyoops (Nash Barbosa Marion Diaw and Bell) and the only guys that I have seen throw a good pass were Nash and Diaw, until tonight. Amare threw a beautiful alley-oop to Marion. Amare played amazing tonight.

I am amazed at Amare's mental toughness. He had his shot blocked twice, maybe three times in the first few minutes. Most guys would tuck their tail between their legs in shame and give up. It didn't phase Amare. He just kept taking it at them as if those blocks never happened.

Amare has great physical ability, but there are other guys in the league with great physical ability. What sets Amare apart is his mental toughness.

Amare is only about 80% of the athlete he once was, but he is a MUCH better player now. He's definitely been coming into his own these past few months.

My god, Amare was a beast. Legendary dunk that will be shown for years. When healthy, Amare just goes through people.

Let's not forget his SWEET left-handed finish and 1. 2 years ago, that wouldn't have happened.

- Whoever thinks Marion had a bad game needs to re-watch for chrissakes. Yeah, players get points against him. But, they're hard-earned points.

We're damn lucky to have him. To think some guys on here would rather have David Lee is comical.

**I counted 5 amazing plays in the 3rd quarter:**
- Nash's double-clutch layup (and 1).
- Amare's poster on Smith.
- J.R. Smith's dunk in which his head nearly hit the rim.
- Amare's shot behind his head.
- Marvin Williams behind the backboard FG as time ran out.

A remarkable highlight game. I didn't even notice all the genius of Nash's between his own legs, left handed bounce pass off the drible to Marion for the three point play until a few re-watches. Really exciting game. That third quarter was just silly.

The Hawks are showing what you can do if you keep getting lottery picks - field a team of very athletic players. You can see why they have been beating some pretty good teams including the Rockets this past week on a night when T-Mac was on fire.

Marvin is showing why he was so highly ranked in the draft (still would rather have Paul though) and he's making the Hawks look less like idiots. Still, the Hawks do not resemble a "team" yet.

Josh Smith certainly lives up to his repuation as a super athlete/shot blocker. I'm not sure he'll end up as a better player than Diaw, but right now he's playing better than Boris has been.

Perhaps you missed the fact that Joe Johnson shot 36% from the field with Marion doing most of the guarding.

Oh but you didn't watch the game did you?

admittedly i didn't watch. i just watched the live box during the second half when jj seemed to come alive and it seemed that everytime down the court he either scored or was fouled and marion was in uncharacteristic foul trouble.

In fact, when Marion picked up his 4th and 5th fouls, at that time Johnson was 6 of 18 for 33%.

yeah, but who pulled those fouls on marion? if jj got marion into foul trouble then it's not really effective defense b/c it means that marion has to sit while jj then proceeded to get off.

Don't forget the blocks at the end of the game. I am sure the Marion bashers won't remember those things. ;)

no no, i did see those pop up on the running box. and if you'll notice my post was during the 4Q and before those blocks actually occurred.

The Hawks need a couple of saavy vets and they would be way better. Put Kidd, Sam Cassell, or even Bibby on that team and could do damage in the East. Even a player like Raja Bell would be a huge help on that team.

That 3rd quarter was tremendous. AMAZING plays on both ends. Amare's dunk. Nash's no-look lay-up. Barbosa's no-look lay-up. Amare's no-look lay-up. Josh Smth's dunk. Marvin Williams's over-the-backboard jumper.

Wow. Best quarter of the year!
