Ricci called up after his rehab stint, MacLean and Jones sent to AHL San Antonio.

Coyotes upset the Devils tonight, 3-1 in perhaps their best win of the year. Jovanovski and Scatchard are starting to play really well, and Nolan and Morris added goals tonight. The penalty kill was perfect tonight in Ricci's return, its early but if that keeps up I'll have to eat crow for blasting Ricci at the end of last season.

Was at the game tonight and the Coyotes totally dominated the Devils.

My favorite part of the game was watching Ricci and his defensive magic. He looked pretty damn good for his first game of the season.

Since I've decided to resume posting again, I definitely plan on posting more in this forum.... Thanks to coyoteshockeyfan for keeping this forum very exciting with stimulating discussions and I hope we can continue to do so.....

True, the Coyotes are languishing in the bottom tier of the Western Conference, but it's too premature to give-up on this team..... Again, like the past few seasons, they've made several trades which essentially affected the team from developing the necessary chemistry that it takes to have in order to win... Yes, some of those moves were necessitated by injuries as well, but it seems that gradually players are discovering their roles....

Perreault seems to be this year's version of either Geoff Sanderson or Steve Reiprecht...He's become a scoring machine and a deft-passer..... Also, Nolan has rediscovered himself from his extensive inactivity.... Saprykin is starting to live-up to his vast potential... Ricci (definitely glad he's since returned) and Laraque provide the physicality the Yotes have been lacking... and nice to see Gratton back.. he reminds me of Bob Probert.....

I'm excited about this team.. they're definitely better than what their record indicates.. once Doan returns and is back at full-strength and they acquire a solid 2nd goalie.. look-out Western Conference..the Yotes will be back on the prowl....

Perreault has been doing really awesome this year. I've noticed we haven't been *too* terrible since we obtained him, but we've been a little better, perhaps closer to .500.

EDIT: I was also at the Devils game. What a great game to be at, we dominated them. Our PK was great, our PP was a little sloppy but ok, and we really did a good job in limiting their chances. Aside from the only goal we gave up, which was cheap and garbage-ous, we had a really good all-around game.

However, it seems the Blues are the only team we can beat away from home.

I am still waiting for JR to show up.

The JR project (1 goal, 4 assists, 5 points, -9 rating) isn't doing as well as the Owen Nolan project (5 goals, 6 assist, 11 points, +1 rating).

If you look at the current stats, I find it interesting that Nagy leads the team with 16 points and a EVEN +/- rating. I know Gretzky is on his case, but the second leading scorer is Jovo with 12 points (4 goals and 8 assists) and a +2 rating.

Doan has only played 14 games, but has 9 points and leads the team with a +/- rating of +5 (5 more goals scored while he is on the ice than against).

Scatchard is 2nd to last in +/- rating with a -12 rating and Enver Lisin is -18 so I can understand why he was sent back to San Antonio.

Comrie has 11 points in 13 games, Perreault has 10 points in 11 games.

Compare the current stats to last year when:

Nagy, 51 games, 56 pts.
Doan, 82 games, 66 pts.
Comrie, 80 games, 60 pts.

Scoring production is about the same for these three guys, except last season the team had a guy named Jeff Sanderson who socred 25 goals in 75 games.

Last year Cujo let in 2.91 GAA per game. This year he is at 3.41 GAA.

Production from the OMG line tonight --

Oleg Saprykin - 1 goal, 1 assist
Mike Zigomanis - 2 goals, 1 assist
Georges Laraque - 0 goals, 2 assists

Who knew they would be our most productive line?

New goalie will be in goal tonight. Read it in the paper this morning. Should be interesting.

It looks like we might have a good hockey team here, that was a huge win tonight, big George is the best player on the team so far this year
