I think you're getting your teams mixed up? :p
Oops! You mean Diana doesn't play with the D-backs? :)

I switched from the D-backs to the Mercury game on TV and was trying to keep up with both.

It's Friday and the next to last game of the Mercury regular season.

As will be the case with Sunday's 1PM finale, Fox Sports Arizona picks
it up after the D-backs post-game show. And ten commercials. :(

The Mercury was very disappointing in their previous game.

Tonight, we're down to the Lynx 78-65 with 2:15 to go in the game.

They're saying that the Mercury were outscored 29-9 in, I think, the
3rd quarter. And Phoenix loses by 14 points with a final shot '3'.

They're saying that Diana Taurasi did not play at all. Apparently she
is nowhere near even 75%. It is what it is!

My biggest complaint about Coach Sandy is her lack of 2nd half adjustments. So many games we have gone into the half with the game close or with us in the lead, only for us to get killed come the 3rd quarter, and we never recover.

Losing Diana this season obviously hurt us but I do put some blame for this season on the coaching staff

As Friday's game. FSAZ is joining this final game of the regular season after the
completion of the D-backs telecast. Tied with 4 minutes to go in the half.

Taurasi has hamstring problems in both legs and is not playing again. She is very
questionable for the single elimination playoff game which will probably be played
Wednesday vs. Las Vegas, whom we are playing today (correction - vs. Chicago).

The Mercury have won their last (I think it's) five playoff single elimination games,
but the one coming up will be tough.

At the half of this game, the Aces lead the Mercury by 4, 52-48. The Mercury
are hanging in.

And at the end of the 3rd quarter, the Mercury are down by 1.

Mercury takes a 2-point lead with 3:18 to go in the 4th quarter.

But, including a 9-0 run, Las Vegas wins by 9, 98-89, and gets a
double-buy in the two single elimination playoff games.

The Mercury will play theirs on Wednesday against Chicago, who
lost today.

should have the TV info.

EDIT:
The single elimination game on Wed. the 11th at Chicago
will be televised at 5:00 PM Phoenix time on ESPN2.

I am hoping we have a decent chance even without Diana Taurasi.

The Mercury, who lost every game to Chicago this season,
isn't keeping up with the Sky in any aspect, with Diana out.

They're down only by 4, 20-16, at the end of the first
quarter, but it has been catchup all quarter. Sandy just
said, "We're lucky be down by 4."

My girl, DeWanna Bonner, is being smothered and simply
can't make up for the absence of DT. And, although
Griner is playing her best basketball, she is not a
difference maker.

I'll say it now. Congratulations to the Mercury for making
it to the post season without Diana.

Then, Brittney Griner, setting a pick, is hit in the left knee
and is down. And being helped off the court to the locker
room. She has not returned.

Bonner is on the bench early in the 2nd quarter, but they
are saying she is OK.

No Taurasi, no Griner, no Bonner on the court early in the
2nd quarter.

Bonner does return. And gets hit in the face.

The Mercury has heart! Down by only 3 at the half.

Chicago gets the first 12 points of the 3rd quarter for a
15 point lead. And Griner, trying, is quickly back out of
the game.

It was expected that the Sky would open it up. I was
hoping it wouldn't be this sudden.

Chicago leads by 13 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

And the depleted (I originally typed deleted, in error ;)) Mighty Mercury
lose the elimination game to Chicago by 29 points by a score of 105-76.

Again, congratulations to the Mercury for making it to the post season
without Diana Taurasi, literally all season.

As some of our stars get older, I hope they come back rested and healthy
for another proud season. I'm not ready to watch a rebuild.
