Barbosa is scoring as well as Marbury, but he isn't racking up the assists either. Of course he is also not dribbling the ball around the top of the key for 15-20 seconds on every possession either.

Is it me or is McDyess not moving to open spots and getting ready for his shots. He looks like he is trying to move as little as possible out there. At least he is grabbing some boards for us! :D

The Milwaulkee announcers are talking about how Jerry C. may be pairing down his teams in order to sell both the Dbacks and Suns! Interesting... They say Jerry is in financial trouble. They don't say where they are getting their info from!!

Suns need to suck it up and end the 3rd qtr well if they want to keep it close down the stretch.

I like the stats coming to me in courtside live though :( For a team with alot of new pieces we're putting the effort out on the floor and playing with some heart.

I hate to say this, but I won't be heartbroken if we lose tonight... I'm more disappointed that Cleveland lost... :(

That said, the Lakers are looking horrible tonight. Kobe gets booed every time he touches the ball.

Anyone thinks it is safe to come out officially and declare myself a JJ fan now that we have gotten rid of Penny and his baggage?

You're a JJ fan? Wow, I'll bet nobody here knew that. :D

If they could just control some defensive rebounds they would win a lot more games.

Hopefully they will look better once they all can get a practice or two this weekend.

The NY post said something about that. So basically it most likely untrue.

I think Slam magazine also had something like that.

Suns Lost

:(

I didn't catch the game. Barbosa went 6 of 12 including 4 of 7 3's plus 3 steals. Only 3 assists and 6 turnovers, but not a bad game. Rookies always make turnovers - it is what being a rookie is all about.

JJ had a huge game - 10 of 18 for 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Maybe the theory that Penny's presence botherd him isn't as far fetched as it seemed.

Marion's poor shooting night killed the Suns: 8 of 21 but his 10 boards and two blocked shots lead the team.

White was very productive: 3 of 4 from the field, 8 rebounds and a blocked shot in only 16 minutes. Naturally he had 4 fouls.

Harvey had an odd game. He shot 4 of 7 from the field, but had only one rebound in 12 minutes.

McDyess had three rebounds in 21 minutes, but shot only 2 of 6.

Eisley did not help his chances of starting by shooting only 1 of 9 and two assists in 17 minutes.

Jacobsen played 21 minutes, but missed his only shot from the field. He had a rebound and an assist. On a team with only 4 guards, he needs to be a lot more productive.

Googs did nothing in 5 minutes other than miss one shot.

Overall, the Suns were out rebounded by 10 (Voskuhl had only 2 boards in 21 minutes). The shooting percentage was close to that of the Bucks, 43.8% for the Suns to 43.5% for the Bucks. However, the Suns hit 42.9% of their 3 pointers (6 of 14) compared to only 16.7% for the Bucks (3 of 18). The Suns had 3 more turnovers than the Bucks.

Overall, strong games by Barbosa, JJ and White were not enough to overcome a bad shooting night by Marion and minimal productivity by Voskuhl and Casey plus a dismal shooting night by Eisley.

That seems so strange it being the Suns.

When our the Suns doing with Donnell Harvey? I mean he only played 12 minutes while Casey Jacobsen played 22 minutes. Are they burying him to keep his price down? Assuming they let Antonio McDyess walk this summer they will have Amare Stoudemire, Zarko Cabarkapa, Shawn Marion, and possibly a first-round draft pick at forward. On paper it doesn't look like there would be much time left over for Harvey, but we might have thought the same thing last summer too.

The other option is that they know he has no future with the Suns, and they are more worried about giving players like Casey Jacobsen minutes to see what they can do.

My concern with Casey is that opponents have figured out how to shut him down: press him on the perimeter and keep someone under the basket. No one worries about pull up jumpers or runners. Unless he develops a mid range game, he may not give enough offense to justify his minutes.

My theory on Dice is that he will be showcased for the Jazz. They need inside guys and could probably work out a trade and stay under the cap. It would save the Suns a huge amount of money off the luxury tax. (The same would work in unloading Googs, but it would cost a lot to get them to take him.Googs deal saves money but doesn't help the team).

If they could just get rid of white or Howard Eiseley (very difficult) and believe they would be under the luxury tax. They would also have damn near maximum money to spend this summer if they wanted.

As I've said before, bribing the Bobcats to take Eisley is my favorite option this summer. Give them the Cleveland pick, they take him, cut him, the Suns have to pay him but he comes off the cap.

I have no clue as to what White's market value is. Getting rid of him for cap relief makes sense as long as it doesn't cost too much. I'm more anxious to get rid of Eisley because of that extra year on his contract.

Unfortunately eye-catching believe it's going to take more than Cleveland's non-lottery draft pick to get the bobcats to take Howard Eiseley. I mean I think it would take a lot more.

My understanding is that if the Bobcats cut a player, they take in the expansion draft, it does not count against their cap. The former team remains responsible for the contract but it no longer on that team's cap either.

Since I read this on another board, I'm not sure about my source. Am I mistaken?

I think hcsilla said that this is possible only under certain circumstances having to do with the player's contract. He posted some excerpts from Larry Coon's CBA FAQ in another thread somewhere.
