Suns get:
Chris Paul

Thunder get:
Steve Nash

Hornets get:
Russell Westbrook
Eric Maynor
Thabo Sefolosha
Robin Lopez

Why Oklahoma City does it:

It's growing to the point with Westbrook where the term "chemsitry" issues are being discussed in reference to his tenure with the Thunder. He is increasingly disgusted reportedly about "not being a go-to-guy" and as long as Kevin Durant is in town, he WON'T be.

When it comes to chemistry and what he brings to the table, Nash would be an ideal fit for OKC. Obviously, defense is never going to be his strong point, but on OKC it won't have to be, with Durant, Serge Ibaka, James Harden and Kendrick Perkins all solid defensive players.

Nash is the consummate ego free player. His willingness to distribute the rock is exactly what OKC needs at the PG position.

Why New Orleans does it:

They get an explosive young scorer in Westbrook (who gets his wish to be "the man"); and their long term replacement for Paul who's leaving next season anyhow. They also get some nice complimentary pieces in Maynor (who is a developing as a PG himself), Lopez (who may likely start for them at center) and a still young SG.

*Shrugs* Perhaps I'm the king of wishful thinking.

With this kind of logic, undoubtedly. Essentially, OKC is trading Westbrook, Maynor and Sefolosha for Nash?

Would love it, but not in a million years does OKC do that trade.

Jay ..... I don't always agree with you, but I do think that you have the makings of a good 3 way trade. I do think that the Thunder would have to receive more in that deal. Maybe the Suns #13 and/or another player. You might even have to put Dudley in this deal as well. Just my opinion.

I sincerely hope you're kidding.

OKC would much rather have Paul than Nash and would easily cut us out of the deal and deal directly with NO.

And I'd rather have Westbrook than Paul, so I was thinking of cutting the Hornets out. Westbrook has some attitude issues, but he's only 22 years old and in his third season, and his talent is off the charts. The chemistry problems in Oklahoma City don't fall entirely into Westbrook's lap: I see Durant being way too passive on offense a lot of the time, settling for threes instead of asserting himself. Westbrook may think he's a better player than Durant, but there are times that I agree with him.

Let's not kid ourselves here. I know you are aware of this, but there is no way OKC trades Westbrook for Nash.

Right, sure. But if Westbrook were to go on the market, I would expect the bidding to be very intense. The Suns, alas, wouldn't be able to make a competitive offer.

Perhaps if you switched Westbrook and Nash this deal could get done. OKC doesn't want Nash, certainly at that price. Chris Paul has played there before, during Katrina, and loved it--and they loved him.

Would be easier for the Hornets to take Nash if they are getting the other players also.

At this point, the Suns would have to be excited to get a young kid like Westbrook back for Nash, who is almost out of gas.

In any event, can't see this deal going down. I do think OKC may pursue a deal for Chris Paul on their own though...

Which brings about this point.....OKC would rather recive Paul that Nash. And likewise is i was looking out for NO's future i'd rather get Westbrook than Nash. NO's isnt going anywhere fast, so the point of them snagging Nash for his last couple years is pretty pointless, ESPECIALLY at the cost of CP3
