But the Nets don't own their own pick so they're not really tanking. They have no incentive to lose. They're a bad team but they'll probably get a couple of wins against other tanking teams.

Well we aren't tanking either playing our best players big minutes. We'll be lucky to end up with a top 5 pick.

I always have mixed feelings about the Nets losing as they may be the Suns firewall from moving too far up in the draft. This team needs to start winning.

With the Lakers clicking recently, the Knight trade is looking less like a spectacular disaster and more like a mere ridiculous folly. It's not like we need another mid-1st. Of course, I'd rather have that than a highly paid veteran I HOPE can be a good backup point guard.

You mean all that anguish, hand-wringing, and anger over the years over this trade has been kinda overblown?

You don't think that the Lakers would have taken their own pick back for Randle at the deadline?

I think the Lakers pick still has tremendous value but hopefully not as much as originally feared.

If the Suns wanted to get Randle this season, I think the Bucks pick would have gotten the job done at the trade deadline.

Randle would have probably messed up the Suns lottery though.

Games to watch today...

Grizzlies vs Magic in Orlando

This will help either way, one of them has to win, but the Grizzlies have 1 less win than the Suns while both teams have 43 losses.

Pistons vs the Heat in Miami

The Pistons are 3 games back from Miami for the 8th playoff spot in the East. A win will help narrow that margin.

Jazz vs Kings in Sacramento

I don't think the Kings will be able to beat the Jazz but it'd be nice if they did.

They play the games for a reason. The Suns had a win over the Thunder already this season and they had won the last 3 meetings before last night. They've also beaten the Wolves twice this year. Upsets happen all the time but I wouldn't say it would be that big of an upset if the Pistons can beat the Heat.

Detroit are in a head to head playoff battle right now, and if they can’t beat a tanking team they’re toast tonight against Miami. Then again it’s the nba so yes, anything can happen.

Best player on the floor for the Grizz tonight was JaMychal Green. If that isn't tanking I don't know what is.

... Ingram kinda sucks. He's still young and he's better than he was last year, but it is only because last year he was, by almost every metric measure, the worst player in the entire NBA. Even so, 2 years into his career, the dude is pretty lousy.

16, 5 and 4 in his second year and built like he is? Calling him lousy is not even close to being a fair comment.

I’d take Ingram over Jackson going forward. He’s going to be a nightmare matchup when he fills out.

Wha? Ingraham’s been the catalyst for the Lakers improvement this season, both he and the team really taking off once Lonzo went down two months ago.

I wouldn’t. Teams need a player like Jackson to be successful. He will be a very good two way player who brings a ton of energy every minute he is on the court. He is also the perfect compliment to Booker.

I won’t argue his fit on the Suns is a bigger need. I’ll rephrase by saying Ingram will be the better player. He projects to be a great shooter and with his length he’ll be able to get his shot off anywhere. He’s also almost a full year younger despite being a 2nd year pro. His handle is nice too.

Only the Grizzlies have been worse than the Suns over the last ten games going 0-10 while the Suns go 1-9.

The Suns have 17 games left to play.

They have big games against the Magic on the 24th in Orlando, the Kings at home on April 3rd, and in Dallas vs the Mavericks on April 10th. The first 2 games are important losses to rack up. The Mavericks game may not need to be a must lose situation since it's the last game of the season and the standings should be clear headed into that game. They do have a pretty rough schedule ahead other than those games though with matchups against the Thunder, Cavs, Celtics, Rockets, and 3 games against the Warriors. The 3 games against the Warriors may as well be penciled in as losses now.

Ugh 5 games against tank competitors. Today was an important loss. And weird to have three against the warriors in the last 12 games o hope they don’t rest anyone against us.
