If we can’t draft MHJ there will be a Qb hungry team looking to trade up.

Based on the current draft order the Patriots might want to look up one spot to get their Qb. That would be perfect. I don’t mind trading down but I don’t want to miss out on a top OT ( build that wall!) and we need a top flight wr.
With extra picks we’d receive from the Patriots we could move up to get the WR.

The Patriots aren’t the only team that will be looking to trade up for a Qb. The Jets and Giants will want one and garner more in return but a little further down. Maybe Monti can trade down with either of these teams and then trade back up to get the OT.

If we trade down because MHJ is gone when is “too soon” to draft Odunze or Coleman? When is it too late to get Alt?

So many variables. We could get another haul of picks if we trade with the Jets or Giants and give us a plethora of picks to be able to move back up.

I can’t see Bears passing on Williams. We therefore take MHJ, an apparent no brainer. Do we then trade up?
I’m fairly confident Giants will go Oline. It’s probably the only Oline worse than ours in the league and they have heavy money in Jones. Their defense is the real deal. Their problems are Oline and WR. They just need Jones to be the game manager he was last season. They were literally missing 3 OL starters in every game he played this year and Evan Neal is looking like a bust at tackle. They likely need to move him to a guard position.

Scenario #4:

Pick #1 WR: Hopefully the Cards end up with the #2 pick and can trade it for extra picks. Ideally that would be with the whoever ends up with the #3 pick and we can still land MHJr. However if we can't get what we want with the team at #3, I would be fine with Odunze somewhere in the top ten of the first round.

Pick #2 Edge: With this pick I'm targeting Jared Verse. The Cardinals need someone who can get to the QB and I think Verse will be that guy. I've watched a lot of FSU games and Verse is a constant disruptor and lives in the opponent's backfield. The Cardinals may need to trade up a few spots to secure him but I think it would be worth it to secure a pass rusher like Verse. Hopefully they could do something similar to last year where they traded out of their early pick and used some of that gained draft capital to move back up to grab their guy.

And yes it wouldn't be a classic MadCard mock draft without me having the Cardinals take a WR in the 1st round.

This article claims MJH is a better prospect than Fitzgerald or Julio Jones.

for the love of god, let's get the player that can take over a game.

Jets think Rogers will play. STL & NYG best targets. Never too soon to take the player you want. One of the receivers likely lasts til 12. OTs could go in top 8. This draft has lots of early options. Perfect for Cards to move.
Oh yeah… forgot about Roger’s , LOL! Who is STL? ( lol)

best line from the linked article. RE :Fitzgerald

"Over 17 seasons, mostly with the Arizona Cardinals, he recorded over 17,000 receiving yards......"

Any approach that gets Harrison on the roster is my approach.

If Monti takes an OT with Harrison on the board, he should be canned on the spot.

How many teams game plan for an OT?
Harrison will open up the entire offense.

Harrison and Newton would be great.
Another WR or OT or CB at 34 would be good..
Cedric Van Pran, a RB, and an additional DT would be good in the third.

Would like to get Mims... dude is gonna be a dominant Pro in a couple years. But draft day value may not have him fit with our picks.

If picks stay the same, Trade down to 3 with NE, draft MHJ, then use that draft capital from NE to trade up from 17 to target Alt (may have to add some of our own capital to come up this far) or Newton. Would love to get two big time difference makers.

Nabers would be an excellent pick up if Harrison Jr is gone

Round 1) wr tackle
Round 2) Dt
Round 3) cb guard rb

Sign the best rated defensive lineman free agent and left guard
Yes! Help Murray in the first round take the Penn st ot and a wr then work on the defense!

The real question is Ossenfort. I know 2 well placed guys who are willing to bet their house he goes OT first.
This is why I prefer option 4 , 1st pick best tackle, 2nd pick best wr and consider trading up for the guy you want(I prefer Nabers).

Trade down. Trade down and get Nabels or Coleman. I really like the idea of drafting Coleman.

With the 2nd 1st round pick, I would target a Edge, preferably Verse.

Honestly I’ve been so torn. Nabers has been my favorite all year and then I see MHJ make a special a$$ play and I get fitz vibes.

If we can find a way to get a top OL and DL in FA I might take MHJ and trade up for Nabers. That could be devastating for opposing defenses. Guys like dortch, wilson and McBride would be running wide open with all the double teams. But the OL HAS to be a priority in FA

I’m super high on Nabers. When I watched LSU I was more impressed with their receivers than QB (although Daniel’s rushing ability was next level). Nabers is still 20 and gives me Justin Jefferson vibes but he’s only a Card if we trade down.
Don't be so sure, his numbers are a lot better than Harrison Jr and he has played against better defenses. Nabers is so smooth and elusive, he could be the top wr taken

I started out as a Verse guy, but I'm on the Dallas Turner train. He's a lot more twitchy.

As the year has gone on, Coleman has probably cemented WR4 status. I'd probably rank the receivers MHJ, Odunze, Nabers, and then Coleman.

I'd go Newton over the Edge players because their is a significant dropoff from Newton to the next DT.

Harry V1: Newton was gone by #17, so i went best front 7 defensive player available. Added round 2 just to see the impact of the compensation. Honestly, the machine accepted the trade, but it feels too good to be true.
