I just got the text from 620. I hope we did not waste our amnesty on his final year. Does anybody have the full story yet?

It's pretty sad that I was legitimately concerned that we'd be stupid enough to amnesty him.

I know what you mean. It used to be if you heard a report or rumor that seemed absurd, you could just say so knowing that the facts would eventually show you to be correct. Now, with Sarver, the only thing absurd is assuming logic and reason ever came into play.

That's a pretty high buyout. The Suns save $1.3M, but Pietrus, once he signs elsewhere, will pretty much get all that money back. If he wanted to leave so badly, you'd think the Suns would have been able to negotiate a lower buyout.

So the Suns will be paying around $8M this season for two players who are playing elsewhere. Not that it matters really.

Still better than paying Hedo 8 figures annually over the next 3 years :)

Its basically the vet min. Now he can go anywhere wo losing any money. Its not that much different than if the Suns sent cash with him in a trade. We are not trying to open cap room right now anyway.

A boatload of cash. Apparently he didn't want to perform in Phoenix.

So last year's trade becomes Turkoglu, a few months of Jason Richardson, and a bunch of cash for Gortat, an armload of bricks from Pietrus, and the lingering stink of Carter's corpse. It wasn't without its costs, but the Suns came out okay.

Usually you would say "who cares it couldn't be worse" but yes it can more Childress is worse than even Pietrus.
