The Pistons play at the Suns tonight with a 7 PM Arizona start time. It sounds like the Suns have vengeance on their mind after their January 11th loss on the road. However, the Suns front line will likely have significant problems with the Pistons front line so the play of the Suns guards will be key. See more from the Paul Coro article at azcentral dated 3-21-14 for more.

Pistons (25-42) at Suns (39-29) … 7 p.m. Phoenix tip time

C: Andre Drummond … Miles Plumlee

PF: Greg Monroe … Channing Frye

SF: Josh Smith … P.J. Tucker

SG: Kyle Singler … Goran Dragic

PG: Brandon Jennings … Eric Bledsoe

Key Pistons injuries: Andre Drummond (neck) said at the team shootaround that he will play tonight. Chauncey Billups (knee surgery) and Josh Harrellson (knee) are out.

Key Pistons reserves: Rodney Stuckey, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Will Bynum, Charlie Villanueva, Jonas Jerebko.

An interesting tidbit:

* Hornacek said the Suns likely will have to go at least 9-5 over the final 14 games to earn a playoff spot. They start the night trailing Dallas and Memphis by 1.5 games but they do not have the tiebreaker against Memphis. They could still win the tiebreaker over Dallas with a rubber match to come in April at Dallas. The Suns trail Golden State by three games and split the season series with the Warriors.

The Suns need to beef up their frontline in the offseason. Dragic having to carry the Suns early.

Bledsoe seems to lack the speed he normally has. He can still drive like a running back in the lane though.

Love the star wars theme. My kids are loving it. Also like how the gorilla got 2 tennis balls signed by agasi and hit one into the crowd.

I guess Singler does not want to get run over by Bledsoe again.

I know this will be called a disappointing loss if we get beat but I look at their roster and then I look at our roster and I have no idea how we're even in the game. I laughed at the Dragic for MVP chants a few weeks ago but maybe he deserves some consideration for all those times he has saved us.

You sound like Eddie Johnson but I disagree with both of you. We aren't "letting" anything, we're being dominated by a better team. They have a worse record than us but the NBA is all about match-ups and the Pistons, like most big teams, are a match-up nightmare for us. In truth, it's the Pistons that have allowed an inferior team to hang around. If they had made their free throws this game would have been over already.

It's hard to argue the Pistons are a better team than the Suns if one looks at the season records. They have a better front line than the Suns but not a better team this season. The Pistons would have probably won tonight if they hit their FTs, but they didn't. Things happen. The Suns play in a tougher conference and proved they are a better team all season long.

The point is, we weren't playing down to them like "letting an inferior opponent stick around" implies. We just don't match up well with them. If there was a team in that game that wasn't playing to their potential, it was the Pistons IMO.

I understand your argument that the Pistons have a better front line. They are tough match up for the Suns. However, they have proved all season long they are not the better team.

I think your argument is with Eddie Johnson's terminology. :)
