I have one week (last week of July) set aside for a family vacation. About once every 4-5 years my family flies out to Flagstaff to enjoy the beautiful scenery and take in training camp. I'm really leery about purchasing any airline tickets if this lockout doesn't end soon.

Question: If the lockout ended say the first week of July, would training camps start on time? If so, have the Cardinals listed start dates for their camp? I'm hoping the last week of July is the start of camp.

Any information is much appreciated. Thanks!

Historically Cards dont announce training camp schedule until this week anyways.

Cards Training camps usually start the last Friday or Saturday of July.

If the new league year starts on everyones estimated date of July 15th, then they should have plenty of time to start training camp on time as usual. But there is one coveat. Considering there is still going to be a lot of free agent movement during training camp, do the Cards still go out of town for training camp?

I wouldnt book tickets this year if I were you, to many variables still.

If you can change your vacation time Southwest Airlines has an awesome sale going on right now (ends tonight at midnight). I booked an October flight back east for 4 last April. I rebooked the exact same flight for the lower fare and got an $836.00 credit (about 45% off) that I have to use before next April.

The sale is only good for flights between mid-August and mid November. It's a crapshoot, but assuming we have a season you could vacation in Flag and go to a game or 2 also.

Yep, I booked my flight tickets on that Southwest deal for opening weekend (9/11). I told my wife we will make the trip either way, game or no game.

The uncertainty sucks for people coming in from outta town. :(

I am planning on going up to Flag the last week of July regardless. I hope there's something to see football/cards related, but at least I'll get out of the heat for a weekend.

The issue is that they train at NAU and do it just before/around the time students move into the dorms. If they were to postpone TC, they could potentially crowd the campus. This leads me to believe that if this were to happen, either they stay in PHX or go to Prescott, where they have done TC in past and the temperature is milder.
