what do you think he would of gotten if he did shoot and kill someone else?!

many people would say that AZ DUI laws are ridiculous, after all it's not like you hurt anyone

each area has it's own problems and legal emphasis

i'm not a big fan of mandatory sentancing - but it is what it is

for people who live in and around NYC it's not like this is a secret - if you don't like it, stay in jersey

The reason is Stallworth was certainly drunk, apparently video of the accident which killed that poor guy show him darting from behind a tree into the street without using the crosswalk.

It is possible that had Stallworth been sober the outcome may have been the same. Also, Stallworth did not flee the scene...

He's still a useless POS for driving drunk at 7 AM in the morning. I don't care what might have happened had he been sober. He was drunk behind the wheel. Period.

I think it's ridiculous. Two years for this? People kill other people while driving under the influence and get house arrest. Justice is certainly blind at times.

Problem being, the DA told Burress that if he didn't accept the plea bargain, he was going to prosecute him as far as he could. Burress had his chance to, KNOWING he was guilty, accept the deal and get off light. Instead he idiotically turned down the deal, threw himself on the mercy of the court, and gee, got nailed. Duh-duh-duh-dummy!

The two years was a plea bargain bud.

So it was. I looked back and you are correct. In that case, Burress not only did not get railroaded, but he got lucky as hell. The DA was talking tough as if there were no more deals, yet he still got to strike a deal after he turned his nose up at the original plea offer. So he really lucked out.

Plaxico finally found a law he couldn't ignore. He has a home in Lighthouse Pointh, FL, where he spends quite a bit of time. He has gotten in numerous scraps and scrapes while here. He taunts the cops when pulled over. He was involved in 2 accidents, which he was at fault in. He walked away penalty free from all of this even though he was license suspended, uninsured and at fault. He also forgets to pay property tax on his numerous homes. He doesn't seem to think rules and regulations were meant for him. Well, he found one and a court that does apply to him.

2 yrs isn't really two years. I'm not certain as to what the good time exchange is in NY, but I'm guessing it's somewhere around 17 days to the month. Partner that up with work release and house arrest and I'll be shocked if he does a year.

2 years goes down to 1 year with good behavior. 1 Year goes down to 6 by entering in some early release program. 3 months because the prisons are over crowded. My guess he will serve no more than 3 months of this sentence.

well he shot himself, will be out of the league for at least 2 probably more full seasons. has likely ruined his professional career and image(at least to getting back to where it was before). now he is going to prison for longer than just a few days. and geez he needs more? I'd say he is not getting off the hook here. too many judges in our country in the mass media internet days. good thing we don't hang innocent people anymore(wait)...

Who is judging? I was simply stating how much time I think he ends up spending behind bars.

I think he does no less then 18 months. If you look at Vicks sentencing he received a deal in the same neighborhood and spent nearly 20 months. They will never reduce his time to less then a year.
