Arizona Cardinals players continued to be active in the community following Sunday's win over the Packers.

On Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, tight end Freddie Jones joined with team mascot Big Red to host Gatorade Junior Training Camps for students at Crockett Elementary in Phoenix and Carden Elementary in Glendale.

Jones coached the students through non-contact drills and also provided each group with their own team names.

“There was a little disagreement with one of my groups,” laughed Jones. “The girls all wanted to be called the Hotties, but the boys in the group weren’t really feeling that. We compromised.”

Jones may have been the biggest kid of all as he somersaulted onto the mat and worked on perfecting his touchdown celebration dances.

Tuesday afternoon, quarterback Preston Parsons and Big Red participated at the SRP Milk and Cookies reading program at St. Francis Xavier School Tuesday afternoon. Big Red warmed up the group of kindergarten students with a little stretching before Parsons read a few books to the class and signed autographs while the kids enjoyed an afternoon snack of milk and cookies.

Later in the evening, Big Red joined cornerback Coby Rhinehart at the Cardinals Training Facility for an ADHS Kids Camp to wrap up a busy day of community involvement. Over 100 kids participated in the camp, and also received an educational message from Tempe firefighters on the hazards of tobacco and smoking.

“I think it is important for kids to have something to do other than go home from school and just watch television,” shared Rhinehart. “This is something a little special to come out here and meet football players and Big Red and I know I never got to do anything like this when I was growing up. I think they are receiving a positive message from the Fire Department and ADHS (Arizona Department of Health Services) and I think by combining it with a football camp, they are definitely catching their attention.”
