Cards are doing due-diligence by working out **** Tabor. Where do you draw the line between giving the young man a second chance and erasing him from your board as a lost cause?

(Even though he ran in I believe, the low 4.6's, Cards still brought him in for a look-see. Wonder what BA&SK are thinking)?

Here is my all-injured/character-concern draft:
1) ILB - Foster
2) CB - Sidney Jones - could possibly come back this season
3) DE - Malik McDowell - pair 2 talented but questionable-work-ethic DE's and see if their competition can keep the fire lit
4) TE - Jake Butt - could also possibly play this season
5) ILB - Kendall Beckworth - possible 2 down back up
6) WR - Dede Westbrook - no risk it, no biscuit

That list could be any and all players in the draft. Especially when talking about injury.

As long as said player isn't another Lawrence Phillips or an Adam Jones with multiple incidents, I'm willing to give a kid a chance as long as he shows some initiative to improve himself. The one on the list who beat his baby mamma and bit her? No. I don't care if he's hall of fame material. He'll be in jail soon.

After last year, we need to avoid headache players in this draft.
.. and then you might miss another Tyrann Mathieu. You have to evaluate each player individually.

Sorry, no. Not this year, anyway. When we drafted Honey Badger, we had a solid locker room. Now we HOPE we have a BETTER locker room than the dumpster fire we had last season. You don't want to bring in that type of player to an already shaky room.

Now, if you do your homework and find the issues are baseless, fine. I'm not saying we need to just draft boy scouts this year. But players like Foster? Pass.

I think an overriding background issue involves what past incidents by a player predict future behavior. (For example - Reuben Foster's hospital blow-up could indicate a "nasty streak" valued by defensive coaches. Or it could imply a big risk that he might be "that guy" off the field in some bar brawl).

Keep him? Or kiss him goodbye? That's why they pay BA&SK the big buckos.

Where things get really germane is where past behavior carries with it the risk that the young man will remain lazy, erratic, feels entitled, doesn't love football etc. (When that's the case, wish the dude "goodbye and good luck").

A lot of writers seem to think DL is our biggest need this year. We took the best DL in the draft last year and he's still new in the box, waiting for Campbell to leave. Gunter Mauro Rucker and Nkdemiche will rotate well this year. Our OLB's are awesome (finally).
Bucannon and Dansby will be a solid inside pair. Peterson and Mathieu are still patrolling the secondary.
We need a CB first and foremost. An interior OL next. BPA thereafter.

None of these QB's is #13 material. I'd look at Davis Webb on the second day though.

This is different though, no? Tabor isn't injured or with baggage (no legal or drug issues?). Depending on what he runs at his pro day he could re-boost his stock. Maybe ARZ is going QB in Round 1. Maybe Mahomes and Tabor are their first 2 points picks.
