I know that it is highly unlikely, but can someone clarify what needs to happen (ie, what teams need to win, what teams need to lose for the remaining games each week) for the Cardinals to obtain a wild card spot in the playoffs? Just curious
Also, do we need to win out, or can we go 8-8 and still obtain a wild card?

Pretty sure we would have to win out and Detroit, NYG or Dallas, and ATL all have to tank.

ATL is going to get in. Chicago, Detroit & NY all have tough schedules coming up. If we win out, we will probably beat them in the tie breaker.

Well the Giants beat us, so they would win that tiebreaker. We're only 1 game behind them and 2 games behind the others. So technically, we wouldn't have to win out - if everybody else lost out. I agree, Atlanta will get in. We need Chicago and Detroit to continue tanking, which wouldn't surprise me much.

Besides Atlanta, the biggest obstacle I think is NY. They have coming up: Dallas twice, Jets, and Skins. So they could feasibly lose 2 or 3 of those games.

We have coming up: San Fran at home, Cleveland at home, Cinci, and Seattle at home. So we can feasibly win 3 or 4 of those. If we can muster up a San Fran victory, I really like our chances.

So we root for the G-Men to take out the Cowboys and win their division. Then we have the tiebreaker against Dallas.

IDK. I don't think that we are getting in unless we win out. I can easily see NY losing 2 games out of their next four. I don't think that Dallas will though. They have NY x2, Tampa and Philly.

I know nobody likes to admit it, but.... Seattle has 5 wins as well. Their odds, like ours, are extremely remote. However, if you're tossing around scenarios - they're still technically in it as well.

We play them the last week of the season, so we can take care of them directly. We need help with the other teams, but not with Seattle.

If we win out, we are in and they are out.

Don't remember how it worked out on the espn playoff tracker, but if the right teams loose we could make it in at 8-8...

since we are mathematically out of contention for sucking for Luck, we may as well root for the playoffs now anyway.

If we get by SF IMO we will win the rights to play in the first round! We have got to beat SF period. Can you imagin 1-6 to 9-7!! I lost it but it's found my man love for Whiz.

Sundays game has to be LOUD!

Off the top of mine head, a whole lot of good things happened for the Cardinals this last weekend, Atlanta, Gmen, Dallas, chicago and Detroit lost! That moves them all one step closer to our crappy NFCW level.

Cards and seachickens advanced one step while other wild card contenders stepped back one step, pretty remarkable really!

at 5-7 we are only 2 wins out of a wild card tie, with 4 to go! If everybody sucks out like this week we can sneak in by our beaks! we can even lose 1!

Why? for ones that never heard my quiet white noise, these last couple weeks, We have the favorable schedule at the end of the season, our last 4 of 5 are at HOME!

Seahawks, Browns, Niners at UP, and BENGALS in their jungle in the cold! Can we do it , OH Hell yea! ( Kool-aid dude bustin through a block wall) We went from not a chance in hell to a fair chance this week! Nobody thought every NFC wild Card contender would lose-

So- CARDINAL UP AND TAKE IT LIKE A FAN!

and I thought the Bengals game would be meaningless. If the Cards win this week. That Cincy game should be pretty awesome.

We can not only make the playoffs at 8-8, but it's possible to even be the 5th seed at 8-8. Need the Bears, Lions, Giants, and Falcons to take a dive; but it is possible.

And check this out....it's still possible for the Cards to make the playoffs at 7-9.......AND BE THE 5TH SEED!
