Great overall game by Amare as well, even with the couple of mistakes. He has really bought into the game plan and is fitting in rather than forcing it. Playing D, hustling, boxing out - doing all the non-glory things that make a difference. And yet he is still unbelievably efficient on the offense end of things and a great FT shooter.
His interior d. has been excellent. His timing on help d great, as witnessed in the block on TD's layup/dunk attempt, and blocking Hill's and-1 attempt that got Hill lying on the ground for 2 min after collision. He was a bit late to cover the perimeter shooting though. And he boxed out TD in the closing min with someone else snapping the rebound just at his feet, but he genuinely got excited by the successful boxing out on the way up to the court. Really good to see that it seems team first with him these days.
Oh, forgot to mention his drawing the charge call on Manu. It was so clean that Manu never complained to refs as usual. That's some true evolution of defensive skills before our eyes.
