We aren't build for a 4-3 and for now, from what I saw, this scheme doesn't work. We don't put players in position to succseed, most of the plays we made last week were single player achievements. Don't get me wrong, but our top players or studs, made some plays, from Chandler Jones that owned the game to PP21 that shut down his side all day long while contributing on tackles and the fumble recovery. Than Reddick steped up once and that was the game. Baker helped out as much as possible but he is put in a bad spot in a 4-3 D ...

Overall I'm not sold that this D willl bent much longer, one of the next games they will break and that will be an ugly game. And from there it can go downstairs very fast.

But overall, McCoy is so bad, that we all talk about the O more than the bad D and the not so special Specialteam that got better, but still isn't good enough.

I dunno. I think that Baker is that guy. He's a Dollar 'Backer who can cover. You just can't have two of these little guys on the field, so that's why Deone is sitting on the bench.

We need an actual linebacker with NFL talent. You can win when Josh Bynes is your 3rd-best linebacker, but you can't when he's your best guy.
This is true. it isn't a scheme issue, it is a personnel issue.

I am not sure what there is to defend. I am not an expert and it could be a personnel issue but I think it is a coaching issue. Last week was a perfect example. Vikings were averging 66 yrds rushing a game but the Cards Defense let them gain almost 200. No adjustments were made at halftime that I could see. When Bowles was DC how many times did we see the opposing team's offense have a great first half but then play poorly after halftime. Because Bowles saw what was not working and made adjustments. I am not seeing that with this DC.

PS I also feel the same way about the OC.

I have no idea why Cardinals are running 4-2-5 most of the time. At least in 4-3 the re is a chance of stopping run. Why?

Oh......I thought this was a grammatical error.

I read this as, " Please defend, Al Holcomb"

I was just going to co-sign.

Me, too. Put me in coach! I will be all over Al. He is a younger and in way better shape but I will stick with him like white on rice (until I rip my hamstring)

We're 10th in defensive DVOA. This isn't a bad defense.

Who would you use as your 3rd linebacker in this situation, and who would you take off the field as a sub?

Share with us what your smoking please.

Come on K9 I know you’ve watch these games! The analytical BS numbers mean nothing. This defense has been thrashed all season & is only slightly better than our laughable offense.

And we’ve yet to play some great offenses that lie ahead

I was thinking Bucannon can come in as the 3rd and with less space to cover may be it will be effective?

I agree... but they spend too much time on the field... our offense has to start converting third downs...will make both sides of the ball look better.

Bettcher lead one of the most aggressive defenses in the NFL in each season he was here.

Hmmm - we like to blitz, apparently a lot more than Bettcher. Maybe BA was an influence (and Bowles certainly is for the Jets)

Bring back Bowles after the Jets axe him. At least he knew how to get the best out of his personnel.
