The fans are as clueless as the orginization....It is why we are the butt of thousands of jokes from every Newspaper and sports column...Exactly because of this!!! We can't pick a guy who could win us 10 games because we want to win 6 and see if Matt MIGHT be our future? WOW

So I guess you are not a fan?

Or are you calling yourself clueless ?

Also, if the stupidity of the fans judged how good a team is then the Dallas Cowboys would not have won a game in.........30, 40 years?

Where did u here the Chargers want Merriman to play through 2 major tears in his knee

Well Norv Turner has been quoted...that he is optimistic he will be there for the opener..I don't know if that gets any clearer....But they are not telling him to shut it down....They know if he gets seriosuly hurt...they can cut him ...unfortunate as it sounds...it is the truth...so they want to WIN now.

I think Leinart MIGHT give us the best chance of winning. But I don't know--I don't think we've seen enough of him (certainly, Whis and co has seen a lot more).

But, I don't think Warner can get us to the playoffs this year. And I feel even more confident he can't get us to the superbowl this year.

Now Scouts.INC thinks that Warner should start...and that Leinart isn't ready. Is everyone with any football Knowledge that wrong about this???? This isn't Madden where just because Leinart was the starting QB when you first popped iti in....Leinart has proved Notta!

I want Warner to start. But just like Matt he has a quick hook if he is creating to many turnovers again and putting to much pressure on the D like he did last year.

Either one that starts needs a quick hook. Cant afford to have a slow start.

This I agree with completely, the shortest of hooks with either of them, we have to start 2-0.

OMG....How can 40% of you pick Leinart to start but Warner will have a better chance to win??????? How does that make any sense!?! You start QB's who have an upside when your team is going to go 4-12 like Dallas(aikman) did, and Indianapolis(Manning) did....Those QB's took the lumps of a team needing a identity!!! IF Matt goes out there and we go 6-10 with a legit 8 to 10 pro bowlers on our team???? How does that help this orginization at all??????? We have been 6-10 with a plethora of QB's...What is so special with Leinart????? This is maddening and now I understand why the Cardinals have sucked so long......The fans are as clueless as the orginization....It is why we are the butt of thousands of jokes from every Newspaper and sports column...Exactly because of this!!! I agree.

But in a much calmer tone.

Norv made that comment a few days ago when he didnt know the full extent of his injury. At the time he only thought it was one of the minor tendons or ligaments. It was only recently that Merriman anounced that he has not one but two tears, one of which is a major one that Turner did not know about a few days ago.

Leinart all the way still. I remember two key fumbles last year in both games. The first one E. Green should have fallen on to seal the deal, and the other by KW, in the other endzone as irony would have it. The Cards need to have a better defense and block better for a running game for us to make a push in the playoffs.

WOW, you're right , I goofed. I read it as "wanted".
I WANTED Leinart to start, but I now believe Warner gives us the best chance to win.

I picked option 3 although none of the 4 really fit my opinion.

My opinion is the best situation for the TEAM is to start Leinart now. the rationale is that Warner is 37, prone to getting sacked, and prone to getting hurt. If we start him it's almost a lock that by week 10 he'll be injured and unable to help us. If we start Leinart(who's also had some injury issues) we still have a chance to win, and it still allows us to use Warner in relief in certain situations. I think it increases the odds of getting through the season with both QB's healthy enough to play which ultimately means we win more games.

I also think it's better for the future of the club. And that is if Leinart is healthy, if Mariuccis comments about his clavicle are true all bets are off and he should not start.

What? No St. Pierre option? Gosh, in preseason he's looked the best of them all!

Just kidding.....

Warner should start, he's the best chance for winning IMO

I think it's pretty interesting how split the board is...almost right down the middle.

I cant vote in this poll because my choice isnt there.. I want Leinart to start (he's the future and needs reps), but at this point Leinart and Warner are about even and either one will give us a chance to win..

True, although the vast majority of the board is of the opinion that Warner gives us the best chance of winning. Hopefully the coaching staff is of the same opinion. It's hard to understand how anyone at this point could say that Leinart is a better option to win now.

And here I thought I had my bases covered. I'm probably closer to your opinion, myself. Leinart has some issues; Warner has some issues...both have good attributes, too.
