Tony,

God bless you man. You rarely post, but I always read your posts. I know sentence structure isn't your thing so don't worry about the critics.

I remember you sharing about your wife passing and it was then that I realized that you were stronger than me. You have a wonderful way of looking at things.

My son and I always get excited when we see you on the big screen, dancing your fool head off. You are a true fan. Keep doing your thing Tony!

Tony, here's the thing..

"We could be like the Lions or Bills..."

The Cardinals HAVE been there.. And frankly, looking at the overall performance on field this season, it's hard NOT to be pessimistic.

Sorry, but sometimes you just can't sugarcoat a turd, no matter how hard you try.

While I hardly agree with every little word said on here, I also can see and understand the frustration and those folks are justified by rights to post such thoughts on here. This is a public forum, and people are going to have varying opinions, some radical.

You can't ask those people not to vent. Sorry.

Tony, know where you are coming from. Lost my wife Oct 13, 2007. The road is long but time helps you to recover, you just never forget.

I remember so many here on this board being so kind and offering so many prayers and kind words. This is a good group here.

Agree 100% that is why I am confident that Michael will rectify the current situation when the right opportunity presents itself. He wants to win. He is not oblivious to the current mess or who caused it.

I want to know what does playing at SDS have to do with continuous losing? One of the worst stadiums in the NFL was the old Vet in Philly yet they still put a competitive team on the field. Soldier Field was falling apart at one time and the Bears usually puts a competitive product on the field. And is there an older stadium(before the refit) than Lambaeu? And I'm not saying we have to have NE type success. Just put a competitive product on the field.

SDS was a nightmare for pro football and the fans. People stayed away in droves because of the heat. No fans made it harder to win, which meant fewer fans, and the vicious cycle continued.

Several former players have commented that the lack of fan support did actually affect the play on the field during those lean years.

The point is 3 Good Seasons of Wiz and 1 bad season of Wiz (even with the poor season being the most recent) is something I, and every NFL fan, including the Eagles and Bears as referenced earlier, would take over a 4 year span.

Has Wiz done everything right? Nope and he has made a lot of mistakes.

Does he deserve the right to correct these issues? How can't see how not?

No one is really arguing things didnt get messed up this year. Its the lack of perspective and complete inability to see anything that isn't this past Sunday or this season that I don't get.

No prespective from what you would think would be an educated group of fans, at least for the most part.

The problem is that the problems don't appear to be the sort that can be fixed in a short period of time. Especially at QB and also considering that major changes in personnel have resulted in a disappointing return to the redundant days of 5-11.

I see some young players on defense that bear hope for 2011. But nothing on offense.

Great thread Big Tony. Keep on trucking big guy. I'm right there with you.

You won't see me crying about this team or the management. Like you, I am willing to accept the bad with the good. I know they are trying and in life, that's all you can really ask of people.

Hopefully Monday starts the turn around.

Duck we have good players. The problem is the Quarterback. With a QB that can sustain drives this defense is top half of the league. We also have better skill people then many teams. There are plenty of pieces in place on this team, but all the people who somehow seem to get off on the doom and gloom of the team won't have you believe that.

You remember this is the two time defending champs right? 90% of those players are still on this team.

The difference between 3-7 and 10-6 is the difference in Kurt Warner and Derek Anderson simple.

Uch. I swear I don't get half the fans on this board. Am I sitting here saying that we have played well this year and no mistakes have been made? No we suck. Plain and simple. But we are a good offseason away from owning this crap decision agian next year.

AND AGAIN ITS BEEN ONE BAD YEAR IN 4 UNDER WHISENHUNT. WAKE UP CARDINAL FANS - WHISENHUNT DIDN'T GET DUMB OVERNIGHT.

He's made mistakes this year. He'll correct them. ALL coaches in the NFL including Belichek and Tomlin. make mistakes. I wonder if Steelers fans were hoping to fire Tomlin last year. Probably not. I don't think I am being naive in thinking we need to address and the QB and DC position and then be the FAVORITES in the division next year.

I mean we have K9 starting threads about the "dope" response of Takeo Spikes on twitter to Darnell Dockett making fun of our team. I swear I thought I was reading a 49er board. Is he even a fan of the team to be getting off on that type of crap?

I will never get the fans who forget that that at the end of the day fail this is supposed to be for enjoyment. I agree this year has been tough to watch, but I am not stupid enough to start ripping Wiz as if one bad year washes away all the good thats been done in the past three.

If we are having these exact same problems next year at this point, then its time to reassess the HC. Until then I think the rest of you should have some freaking perspective and realize it isn't your god given birth right to cheer for a division winning team.

Wiz took our crap team to the Super Bowl. Keep that in mind next time you start a thread wanting his head on a plate.

^ And by the way. This isn't blindly being a "In Wiz we Trust" fan

Its called seeing through the forest through the trees. This has been one bad season where poor handling of the QB situation doomed us. Facts are theres probably a lot of culpability to go around with that mistake, so throwing that all at the feet of Wiz is pretty stupid.

Wiz is one of the best things to happen to the Cardinals. Even with the bad decisions this past offseason. Lets not be in a rush to make him the root of the problem, so we can get stuck with another Denny Green or Vince Tobin.

THEN we can go back to the doom and gloom of yesteryear. Till then our best hope to get us out of this morass, is the guy with the Head Coach title next to his name.

Ummm we are more than a QB from being a good team sorry! Not sure what forest your seeing through what trees. Off the top of my head we need a new OC, DC, QB, FS, DE, CB, OL just to name a few. This team is far, FAR away from being a contender outside of the NFC West!

I beg to differ slightly. For starters, last season, his play calling was suspect. And his personnel moves were starting to show. Especially the McFadden signing. As for the Eagles taking 1 bad season in 4, I know of no other coach who is vilified by their own fans as Andy Reid. And he has had only 2 losing seasons in his tenure; his first and the obligatory post Super Bowl loss season. But I'd take Reid over Whiz any day of the week and 3 times on Sunday. Because Reid coaches around his team, not the other way around. He is one coach is definitely shows he knows more than us know it all fans.

Andy Reid is a class act..hands down.As any one ever been to a Eagles game..Lets just say 98% Eagles fans are there.Eagles have one of the most Settled Team in the nfl..There coaches all of them dont leave..Their coaches have all been there at least 5 years plus..The Steelers have at least 3 coaches with 6 years on the Team still..It takes time..Rome wasnt built in a day..

Too simplistic on your part, which franky doesn't shock me.

You realize the DC, OC, FS, DE, CB, and OL are all the same from last years 10-6 team that won a playoff game right?

They didnt all get 10X worse over the course of a season. Its amazing what good QB play will do for the rest of your team. Think about how much bitching Colts fans would be doing over CB, LB, WR's, and OL if they didn't have Peyton Manning. But they do. So that makes them a premiere team. Only the most naive of football fans would fail to realize how important the QB is to not only the offense, but the defense and overall aptitude of the coaching staff as well.

Says here Bill Belicheck has no rings and is a DC somewhere else had he not stumbled upon Tom Brady. Sometimes its just that simple.

This team is far, FAR away from being a contender outside of the NFC West!

Hey champ we aren't getting moved to the AFC East next season so all we need to do is be contenders INSIDE our own division. I think 2008 proved thats all that matters

Yup.

Not to mention Andy Reid is just one coach who is only allowed to coach one other team. And for all the Andy Reid love, he hasn't won a Super Bowl and has gotten as far as Wiz one time in 12 years, opposed to Wiz doing in 4. Oh and to remind you Wiz DID IT WITH THE CARDINALS. Not the Eagles. Much higher degree of difficulty.

But go ahead and keep using Andy Reid as your example of what we should be striving for as fans, because we are never going to get him NJ. You managed to find one stable coach who runs one of the best run teams in football, to make your point. Fisher isn't coming here either. All coaches can be picked to pieces other then Belichek. We happen to have one of the better ones. The numbers prove it out.

And did you really cite the Bears as consistent and something we should be striving for? LMAO. Yeah you would be the only one who would take lovie Smith over Wiz.

Wiz can't kiss away everybodys tears for the past 40 years. But he can right the ship after one bad one. THAT I have full confidence in.

You are using that as a ***** in Wiz's armor? Everyone makes mistakes - this is the NFL - no one goes 100/100 with every move. You realize your beloved Andy Reid completley whiffed on Stacy Andrews, signing him to a six year deal last year then cutting him shortly after.

Besides Andy Reid actually had a genius GM in Tom Heckert helping him, unlike Wiz. THAT more then anything has led to the Eagles success and Reids tenure. You can bet your sweet butt that if they are whiffing on those picks, instead of drafting Jackson, Maclin, and McCoy - Reid's in alot more hot water then he is and maybe out of a job completely.

Now if you want to complain about Rod Graves and his complete inability to provide anything positive for this organization, I would be inclined to agree with you.

No they're not.

Antrel Rolle was the Free Safety, and the offensive line is different with two new players and LBrown moved from RT to LT. McFadden started at CB.

You are also wrong that QB is the only thing that the Cards need to compete in any division and that Belicheat would be nothing in NE without Brady.

I don't agree with the list nashman put up because we don't need a FS, CB or a DE.

What we need are better players at the 4 LB spots especially a couple that can generate a pass rush. Better Offensive tackles and/or a better blocking scheme and a TE that can actually contribute to the offense.

Don't disagree with this. But a QB would seem to make those issues not as glaring. Look even that genius Bickley agrees :)

http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/DanBickley/108073

My concern with this is that the Cards had serious defensive issues even with Warner, consistently either blowing leads or trying to blow leads.

As I've said many times here far too many QBs had huge passing days vs the Cards in '09 and far too many RBs had career days vs the Cards. Just once I'd like to see the CKW group field a consistently solid defense. I don't think that is going to happen with Haggans, Hayes, Lenon, and Porter. All over 30 and needing to be replaced within the next 2 seasons.

I don't know about Scofield, too little data. Will Davis has been ok but not even close to Okeafor. Washington I like. Then there's nobody.

Linebacker has historically been one of the easiest positions for a rookie to transition to the NFL game. Sadly we haven't seen it from our guys.

I have no idea what to do about the offensive line other than just hope that a year of playing together will help dramatically like it did going into '08 and 2 years together going into '09. (I know that Al Johnson played C in '07 but the other 4 guys were the same: Gandy,Wells,Lutui, and Brown)
