Usually what happens is that MJ or BL puts words in Rod's mouth and then Rod says something like "your assumptions would appear logical." Something like:
MJ or BL: "With Roundtree probably out til October and Garcia suspended for the first 4 games, I guess you'll be looking to add a couple of linemen."
RG: "That makes sense. We probably will try to bolster our offensive line situation, but we do have guys like Reggie Wells and Jason Starkey that we like a lot."
MJ or BL: "I guess you'll probably wait til the first cutdown date to pick up any talent that might be cut loose."
RG: "Well that's probably right. But if we have the chance to sign a promising youngster earlier, we might consider it."
Rod answered a few other questions; among them:
Q: What about Wilkinson?
RG: Well, to be quite honest, we reviewed his production over the last two years and they don't compare all that favorably to guys we've already got like Russell Davis and Barron Tanner. At the price he's asking, it doesn't look like a realistic situation right now."
B: What are your expectations for the Dallas game?
RG: I think it will be an exciting game that will interest the fans. It will be interesting to see how we execute and how our new veteran pickups (Blake, Emmitt, Darling, Dexter Jackson etc.) do and also how our top draft picks look. And let's not forget some of our other draft choices like Reggie Wells and Ken King."
Frankly - in the offseason (when there isn't any other Cardinal football news and when personnel moves are always being considered or "just around the corner", I hang on every kernal of information from Graves.
But now - with news coming fast and furious out of camp and actual football stuff that's going on all the time, the past 2 or 3 Graves interviews haven't exactly been packed with new information.
But take him off the air, and I'd be the first to scream bloody murder.
