I have signed up to get a popup message letting me know that I have a PM. You have the option of hitting ok and cancel.

If you hit ok, it asks you if you want to open the PM in a new message. If you choose cancel (NO) it will give you a blank "No Page" error message. If you choose a new window it opens just fine.

DCR, I looked into this and I am not having any problems. Tested it from both my moderator account and my dummy test user account and I get the popups fine. I am on Cox internet FWIW.

I guess I'll just give the standard answer of clean your cache and restart your browser and give that a shot.

Tried. It has been sporatic. I have only tried IE. I should try firefox.

I just had the same problem, dcr -- hit 'cancel' and got nothing. I can live with that, but it's just one more minor glitch. I'm using aol, btw, and it worked last night but not now, so maybe they're fixing it like Qwest fixes my phone: the guy told me that if someone out here complains about bad phone line, they go to the nearest relay box and switch that line with someone else's on newer hardware. Then if that person complains, they switch THAT line with someone else's. And so on, until they can get around to overhauling the whole thing eventually.

OK, NOW it just worked in two steps... I'm thinking it used to be one? Now I get a 'click cancel to hide prompt' and THEN get the 'cancel to open different screen' thing. Anyhow, it worked fine.

It's always been two.

Oooops. spoke to soon. That time it didn't work. Sporadic is putting it mildly. Stochastic, maybe.

I have always had it not work periodically--very rarely--but every now & then nonetheless. I haven't had any problems lately, though.

Worked again. But I'm not getting notifications by email -- although in the past they sometimes came as much as a couple hours late, so we'll see. That one's not a big deal. You're right, Linderbee -- the PM pop-up has occasionally not worked for me, although I assumed I accidentally hit the wrong button, as is too often the case.

Actually, what this is making me do is pay attention to bells and whistles I never even noticed before.

OK, PM pop-up has taken me to a no-page-here error message two out of the last three times again.

It happens to me almost everytime.

I think I figured it out. (kinda)

If I click OK and then Cancel right away, I get the no page error. If I wait a second or two, it usually pops up correctly.

Maybe there is a forced delay???

I turned it off. It's worthless.

Theory didn't work....

I should turn mine off too. I don't even get a popup half of the time. Ugh.

OK, now it works again. I hit Open, then hit Cancel, and it's fine. next time I'll try it the other way.

OK, it may just be the new computer, but everything was working yesterday evening. Starting sometime since then I am once again getting an error message when I hit 'open in a new window,' and nothing at all happens with hitting 'open in this window.' Have to then go up and click 'notifications' in the top right-hand corner. Edit -- OK, now it just worked OK for me again.

PLUS, I can get the IMG icon to open the little window, but when I paste in the info and hit OK, it just disappears, and nothing gets inserted in the post. (Yeah, just tried it again; same thing happens -- or doesn't happen -- with the link icon.)
