For me, Allen has disappointed this season. It started when he came into camp out of game shape.

I always respected his toughness, but I'm not seeing it much anymore. Bottom line, he is not a player I would fall on a sword to keep.
greyson is one of the only non rookies ive been happy with this year - he came into camp more in shape and it's paid off with his penetration and defense

I think we will see Nurkic play out the season unless there's some miraculous 3-4 team trade made. I know Nurkic is low on this group's opinion, but as a back up center against second level centers, he may actually be useful. The only way the keep Nurkic at home is if they REALLY want to develop Oso and give him minutes.

It would have to be for an equally bad contract/player a team is frustrated with.
If we are patient with him, I believe he's on an expiring next season. Someone brought up a buy out option.

I must have missed that chapter. However, I'm pleased Allen's three point shooting is coming along.

He’s the starter lol, who would he backup he’s better than what we have on the roster!

He's the starter by default and was the backup in Charlotte also. I'm fine swapping Okogie and a 2nd round pick for him but since we only have 3 2nd rounders it hurts to lose them all. It's nice we got one back for the 2025 draft but Charlotte came out slightly ahead in terms of assets regardless of the roles Richards will play here.

That’s fair but he is #1 again in the NBA. Not many players have done that two years running. You can’t trade away that type of asset for a patch.

I hope we're in touch with New Orleans because we might be able to send him there in a deal that moves Ingram out. They want something for Ingram and need a C. A third team needs to be involved that's interested in Ingram but I think that's one of the ways we can move Nurkic out. What we get back is questionable but clearing $20 million is a nice bonus after clearing some in this Okogie deal also. We're $28 million over the 2nd apron right now. It's possible to squeeze under that if we can dump Nurkic somehow.

I guess it depends on the assets Allen would return in trade.

It does my heart good to see 2nd round picks treasured again.

I think teams are looking for picks. It would probably take a 3 team trade to get what we need to make the FC better while not hosing our 3 point game. Honestly, I was a little shocked it took 3 2nds. If we had not gotten that pick back that trade e doesn’t look as good to me.

Has scouting or players gotten better recently?

For the Suns, it appears they are suddenly better at drafting over the last two drafts.

Allen started the season in really bad form. But he's been moving a lot better and his 3pt shot has been back to last year's standard. Problem of our offense is we always try to feed KD and Book as 1st priority, without sets to get catch-n-shoot chances to our hot-hand shooters Allen, Beal and Tyus in a systematic way. When one of the big-2 is off with shots, we are in trouble.

So the Suns gave away some of their few picks. Could that mean they have given up on trying to trade for Jimmy Butler, for which those picks might have been useful to either the Heat or a third team?
I think Miami is far more interested in our 2031 first round pick and Dunn. And it wouldn't surprise me to find out that we're desperate/dumb enough to give them a package that includes both.

The team had supporting cast A and Coach A. Replace said supporting cast and replaced coach. Now have tweaked even more. What is the common denominator here? I think you nailed it. Chemistry. That's why I don't want to see them get Butler. That's why I don't want to see them trade Allen. I am not for giving away anymore major assets just for another patch.

If this team somehow pulls off a sneaky trade (they have done it before) that's one thing. This is far as I want to see them take this.
It would be nice to have some semblance of roster continuity. Between coaches changing, players changing & injuries, there's not been a lot of nice stretches where the team can settle into a rhythm.

Pretty that ship has sailed. Nobody is taking the Beal contract.

I'm beginning to think the NBA has met its match in Mat Ishbia.

Maybe we should be watching him negotiate the NBA minefields and spend less time worrying about the Suns?

It feels like he is adept at crossing rivers without getting his feet wet.

If the Suns still had all their normal assets nobody would care. Statistically they hold little value outside of stockpiling for other trades. You have to have something to trade for something. My issues with 3 was because Richard’s is a patch and that seemed excessive until we got one back.

Can you expound on this, I'm not sure why you're taking this stance?

This is a good deal. Richards is a live body and legitimately big. He’s not the most cerebral player, but he offers something we don’t otherwise have. I called for a trade for him a year, maybe even two, ago.

I'm not taking a stance. However, as a Suns fan, I can't help but think Mat Ishbia sees the NBA differently than we do.

He sees solutions where we see mostly barriers.

The thought occurred to me, as I glanced at his other business doings, he may be playing chess while we are playing checkers.

Maybe it's possible to spend your way to prosperity and success if one knows what they are doing?

I would think that's a stance but okay. If I understood you correctly, you believe he's showing the ability to maneuver beyond the restictions placed on us by the CBA and that it's a good thing? If so, you could be right; and I certainly hope so.
