"Should" or "Will"?

Should? Yes. They should strike while the iron is hot and try to bring in a pretty good FA who will get the team to the next level.

Will? No. Too much money.

They should get their # 17 draft pick, and then pick up a 2nd player off the free agent list to help in the area they did not draft for.
I am sure there will be a free agent backup point guard available that can help relieve Marbury a few minutes a game.

I think in two years they will be ready to sign another free agent that can help put them in the finals.

The young suns will have played together a couple more years and be much better than they are now.

I like the idea of adding a quality player via FA, or some trade involving Outlaw that would bring back something that could possibly fit better. (I chose outlaw becasue of his contract, not his play)

I would be amazed if we threw the entire mid level at someone, but I think if they pick up a oslid player for around that much we could make much more noise then we did this year.

Here is the anomaly of trades. We are more than willing to give up Bo Outlaw, but is any team willing to take him in return? That's the most important questions, and declining contract or no, he still makes more money than he's worth.

Oh I definitely agree Chap. However he is really the only person that stands out as some sort of trade bait this summer. I think maybe a big man stared team in teh east may pick him up, but we wouldnt get much in return

They should make one very minor change - replace Frank Johnson with Paul Silas.

even if someone was interested in bo i'd be surprised if we traded him. Our defence was shot once we traded cliff and kidd so i don't think we'd do the same thing twice - bo's defence is underated IMO...

his team defense is probably underated throughout the league. His man to man defense is pretty weak however. I think he could play solid man to man, but he has this urge to run away from his man, even if it is TD, and chase the ball like a chicken with its head cut off.

YES. He is a very solid defender and hustles his ass off. plus his contract will be getting SMALLER over the next few years. That might attract some teams. (Hey, who wouldnt want a guy who plays hard every night, can cause havoc on defense, and is a good locker room guy and has a contract that gets smaller?)

Hell, I would be iffy about giving him up unless I truly felt like i was getting quality in return. Bo + #17 for Mourning isnt out of the question. Im just not sure if many teams will be making a run at Mourning, and *if* Miami was thinking of not keeping him then why not get something in return?

The fact that it's getting smaller is irrelevant. If it was a contract that was 2mil this year, 1.8 next year, etc... then your arguement would hold water.

But he made like 6 million last year and another 5.whatever this next year.

Sorry, going down or not, there aren't many teams willing to pay that for him.

Yes, they should definitely make changes.

They need to fire Johnson and hire a real coach- Van Gundy, Dunleavy, Silas, the list goes on.

They also need to add a big man (center or a power forward) who can run, and make those 15 footers. (Mourning, Howard, Miller, Drobnjak, etc) I doubt this is going to happen, but it would be nice.

I would also like the Suns to get another scorer to come off the bench.
