The Coloradoan is proud to present our weekly Athlete of the Week series for this high school year, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the best Fort Collins-area high school athletes.

With the winter preps season wrapped up, this will be a special edition of our weekly awards.

Here, you can vote on the top Fort Collins-area boys athlete for the entire winter sports season.

You can find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Voting is open until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, with the winner announced on Monday at coloradoan.com/sports.

The following boys athletes are nominated for their performances during winter sports:​

• Kellen Ball, Windsor Charter Academy basketball: The Firebirds senior was WCA's senior leader en route to the Class 3A Final 4 and a third-place finish. Ball averaged over 13 points and 4 assists on a deep, talented squad as he earned 3A first-team all-state honors. He also became the program's player to hit 1,000 career points.
• Billy Greenwood, Poudre wrestling: The Impalas senior won a second straight state title, this time going 36-5 (with no losses to in-state wrestlers) en route to a 5A 157 championship. Greenwood won by technical fall or pin in 24 of his wins and didn't lose to a Colorado wrestler in his final 45 matches dating back to 2024.
• Hayden Williamson, PSD ice hockey: The Stars senior played like a star this season, leading Colorado in goals with 26 and added 10 assists. He was a dynamic offensive weapon in a special season for PSD. The Stars went 18-2-2, beat every top-10 team and finished as 5A runners-up.
• Robert Kendall, Windsor wrestling: The Wizards junior went a remarkable 38-1, winning six tournaments to take the 4A 165 crown. Kendall swept league, regional and state titles, winning all four state tournament matches by technical fall or major decision.
• Keagan Oakes, PSD nordic skiing: The Stars senior made it back-to-back years with a PSD first-team all-state boys skier. Oakes never finished worse than 12th in an event all season, including two at state, where he also helped PSD take second in the first-ever nordic team relay event.
• Evan Perez, Windsor wrestling: The Wizards junior was a dominant force, winning the 4A 215 state title while going 41-0. Perez won 32 matches via pin and needed a third period twice all season, against just one wrestler (Mead's William Eiliers). It was Perez's second state title in three years.
• Madden Smiley, Windsor basketball: The Wizards junior made history, leading Windsor to its first boys basketball state championship in 101 years. Smiley averaged over 21 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists per game, earning Colorado 5A Player of the Year honors on CHSAA's all-state team.
