The Coloradoan is proud to present our weekly Athlete of the Week series, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the best Fort Collins-area high school athletes.

There are five nominees every week, and fans can vote every Mondays through Wednesdays at coloradoan.com/sports.

This is the 31st edition of the 2024-25 school year, as we start to get our first hints of spring championship season as tennis and swimming come down the home stretches.

You can find the ballot below. Voting each week is open until midnight on Wednesdays, with the winner announced on Thursdays at Coloradoan.com.

Fans can nominate their favorite athletes (deadline: 11:59 p.m. every Sunday) and the Coloradoan Sports staff will ultimately select the nominees each week.

Last week's winner: This Poudre baseball senior standout is the Blue Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week

If you have nominations for a future Athlete of the Week, please send them via email to [email protected] for consideration.

Meet the Blue FCU Athlete of the Week nominees

The following Fort Collins-area athletes are nominated for their performances from April 14-19:

  • Addie Clemmer, Timnath girls soccer: The Cubs freshman continues to make a big impact in her debut high school season. Clemmer had a hat trick, plus two assists in Timnath's 10-0 win vs. Northridge, tying her for the team lead this season with 21 points through eight matches.
  • Mason Griffin, Fossil Ridge baseball: The SaberCats senior star keeps mashing the ball and he did it again versus a city rival. Griffin went 4-for-4 in Fossil's 15-13 win vs. Rocky Mountain, cranking two home runs and a double with five RBIs and four runs scored, including a late solo shot to tie the game.
  • Cadel Ruthven, Fort Collins boys track and field: The Lambkins junior beat out an elite field, winning the Randall Hess RoughRider Invitational boys 1,600-meter run by .01 seconds. Ruthven's winning time of 4:14.43 was part of four finishers in the race that met MileSplit's "Elite Performance" U.S. First Team gold standard.
  • Kaden Souders, Fort Collins baseball: The Lambkins junior matched Griffin on the diamond in a 13-2 romp vs. Loveland. Souders also went 4-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored, including a 400-plus foot dinger and a three-run shot that served as a walk-off in the run-rule win.
  • Mia Williams, Fossil Ridge girls track and field: The SaberCats senior swept titles in the 800- and 1,600-meter girls races at the Randall Hess. Both wins came in elite fashion, with Williams' 800 time (2:15.49) meeting MileSplit's U.S. Second Team silver standard and her 1,600 finish (4:57.47) good for the gold First Team standard.
