Agreed. This is the best option I see as well. Do not continue to overspend now, when we can work out a trade for a player in the future. Or see what is availible next summer.

My first choice would be Etan Thomas - he's not a 'true' center but he's a big, strong dude and he has a fair inside game on offense. He could guard the opponents low post threat regardless of the position he was manning on the offensive end. He's by no means a stiff... he's fairly atheletic and he gets up and down the floor well. The problem is that he's an RFA and Washington may match but he's certainly worth a try.
