With all the races all decided with the exception of the National League Centrals's Houston/ Chicago Cubs race, Who do you think will win the 2003 World Series.

New York Yankees

Boston Red Sox

Minnesota Twins

Oakland A's.

Atlanta Braves

Florida Marlins

Houston Astros/Chicago Cubs

or

San Francisco Giants

I've never rooted for an American League team. And, although a Cubs-Red Sox series would be special for baseball, and expecting Bobby Cox's traditional post-season fold . . .

I'm rooting for the Marlins. That would move them past the Braves with quantity of World Championships within the past decade, and move them one past our D'backs . . . giving us a little extra motivation next season!

(Maybe we could lend them the guy who's been a Good Luck Charm to both teams -- Craig Counsell.) ;)

Anyone but the Yankees or Gnats.

Well, actually I would love to see the Cubbies win, just to make my mom happy!! Who will actually win? Probably the Evil Empire...

I live in Florida and watched this Marlins team grow all year. I think they are clicking at the right time and should give the Braves a run.... If they don't win I have to go with the SOX. Even though they are American league. Remember the AL has home field advantage....:stupid:

I'm going to go out on a limb & say that whoever wins the Yankees/Twins series wins the World Series. Here's why;

The Florida Marlins are not the '97 Marlins.

If Minnesota beats New York Yankees, the metrodome crowd will give the Twins an unprecedented advantage from there on in.

If the New York Yankees go deep in the playoffs, they will only get beter & better with their stellar hitting, pitching & poise.

Plain & simple, I don't care much for either team, but that's how I think it will turn out.

Indy, when you say the 'Evil Empire', you probably mean the dreaded Yankees, don't you?

Moreover, I forgot to add, that the Yankees are probably angrier & pissed-off more than ever. You know, after what happened to them in the bottom of the 9th inning, Game 7 of the 2001 World Series against the Diamondbacks. Last but not least & getting manhandled by the Angels in last year's ALDS(Anaheim made quick work of the Yankees & made it look easy, I might add)

With all do respect, the 'Evil Empire' may have a lot to say in this post season.:(

Yes, the one and only Evil Empire, a.k.a. the New York Yankees; I agree with you that it is probably their time for another title! :barf:

I'd like either the Cubs, the Twins or the Redsox in that order. The Cubs because they used to be my old team before we got the Dbacks and it's been so long since they've won. The Twins because they would prove you don't have to pay a lot of money or be in a big market to win (would drive George nuts!!!! ) Redsox because it's been so long for them although I would love to see them lose to the Cubs on some stupid last play of the game  :)

Wanting someone to win... and predicting the winner are two different horses, but in reality the teams have no clear cut dominating favorite... so can see any of them winning the whole enchilata.

Order of my prefs (purely personal for variety of reasons... slanted towards the NL primarily)

1. Cubs
2. Red Sox
3. Braves
4. Marlins
5. Twins
6. A's
7. Giants

Not going to even list the #8 team, since I NEVER want them to win ANY games... EVER

Don't any of you guys want the Twins to win? I think it would be cool to have a team that doesn't spend load of money to win it. Maybe it would start a trend to not spend so much damn money on these players? Plus it would be really embarassing to the Yankees!!! I actually think the Giants will win it for some reason, my second least favorite team :( I live in Cali now I should be rooting for them! not a chance!!!
