The Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Rochester Girls Indoor Track Team consists of the top sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, distance runners and throwers in Section V.

We are currently hard at work getting that story ready to launch in the next few weeks.

In the interim, we thought it would be fun to ask track and field fans their opinion. So, who should be Section V's Girls Indoor Track Athlete of the Year?

Your vote determines which Section V girl deserves the honor. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page next week. And if the poll at the bottom of the page doesn't load, please click here.

These are the top candidates after the high school indoor track state championships March 8 on Staten Island:

Paige Harding

A senior on the Oakfield-Alabama/Elba team who was the Federation and New York State Public High Schools Athletic Association state runner-up in the pole vault. Harding is among four jumpers who have cleared 12 feet this season in the pole vault. She jumped 12 feet on Feb. 6. Her previous personal-best indoor or outdoor, was 11 feet-6 inches.

Harding medaled at states last season, which included trouble with a stress fracture and shin splints. She is a member of three AGR track teams, two indoor.

Juliana Ostrander

The junior at Mercy was a clear No. 1 on the Section V girls 300-meter season leaderboard. No other sprinter in the area has run the event in less than 40 seconds. Ostrander's fastest race this winter, 39.73 seconds, came during the Section V state qualifier. She ran the race at states in 41.00, the 12th fastest time in the Federation standings.

Kaylee Oswald

The Wellsville senior is the Federation and NYSPHSAA state runner-up in the shot put. Oswald was the No. 2 seed in the event at states. Her season-best of 43 feet-6.50 inches is a bit behind the No. 1 state seed's, but not even close to being matched in Section V. She is a member of three AGR track teams.

Jayda Solomon

A senior at Spencerport who was the No. 4 seed in the 55-meter dash at the state championships. Solomon came in seventh in the state final heat. While No. 1 on the Section V 55-meter season leaderboard, Solomon also has season top-10 in Section V performances in the 300 and long jump.
