I was thinking this earlier when posting on another thread and like the idea....I'd have to see if the points work out..

We'd have

1st round pick
2 guys in the 2nd round..
no third round

or stay

1st
2nd
2 guys in the third

To me the talent in the 2nd is so much higher than the guys in the 3rd...one guys opinion.

Maybe in most other drafts but this year is special for how deep it is. 4th rd picks this year are like late 2's and 3's in most years.

If we had re-signed Dansby and Branch was effective as a NT then I would be more inclined to saying yes.

Tell me who we are trading up to get & I will let you know...but, chances are no considering the players in this draft.

The way i see this draft it has elite prospects in the first round who are quite far ahead of the rest of the class, however once you get past that the players available from the 2nd round to about the 4th round are quite interchangeable as the second tier quality is very deep in this draft. Therefore i would not want to give up the opportunity to draft two of these players for one which in essence this trade would be doing.

Maybe We Can Trade A 3rd And 4rd For A Middle 2rd..so We Can Have Two 2 Rd And Still Have A 3rd...maybe This Draft Class Is Deep But We Need Starter From Week One

Just for GP and no target player? No.

Thats BS. I keep hearing it. But by that philosophy we should be getting almost 4 first round to high second round talents in our first 4 picks. All guys that should be starting or close to starting no later than year 2. Just not gonna happen.

1 - Chris "Beanie" Wells, RB, Ohio State (6-1, 237); 2 - Cody Brown, DE/OLB, Connecticut (6-2, 244); 3 - Rashad Johnson, S, Alabama (5-11, 203); 4 - Gregory Toler, CB, St. Paul's (5-11, 185);

Close to all four being close to starting. :)

Your opinion. The talent level is high enough in this draft that I would rather have a first, a second and two thirds than a first and two seconds. The only reason I would move up is if I saw a player that I really wanted. Our two thirds will get us around the 29th pick in the second. Without knowing who will be there, I wouldn't make that trade.

Only if they have someone they really like. I'm against moving up just for giggles.

i would do it in a heartbeat, especially if it was a high 2nd rounder. Our 3rd rounders are at the bottom of the round. I posted a while back on the guys drafted 88 and 89 over the years and most have had little to no impact in the nfl. I would take my chances on a higher rated 2nd almost anyday.

I'm very happy with those 2 3s potentially netting us a NT like Troupe or Thomas and a ILB like Spikes or Lee.

So I wouldn't trade those picks.

Nope. I really think we could use the 4 picks in the first 3 rounds in such a deep draft this year. I am really hoping to see an ILB, NT, CB, and OLB/OT with our first 4 picks.

It depends on who's there...

If McClain dropped to us in the middle of Round 2, would he be worth a #88 and #89? (I'd think so).

But if was just the pick (with no one in particular on our radar screen) I'd rather have the #88 and #89.
