What Vaughn does that Udrih never could is hustle and bring in defensive intensity. Vaughn, if he is not trigger happy and just concentrates on running an offense, is great as a 3rd PG in the Spurs system because he is mostly disciplined. Udrih on the other hand is slow to learn, and just like to run things his way. Again, great talent as he can shoot, pass, and penetrate, just don't have the discipline to assert himself to do the things Popovich craves most in his players.

It seems to me that the Suns could have used such a scrub PG as Udrih. He is really struggling with the Kings.

Also didn't the Kings beat the Lakers last night at the Staples Center?

Yeah Udrih had 25 points and 10 asst, made the game winning foul shots. Udrih may just be a euro that wants to play faster, didnt have much opportunity to play alot behind parker.

sorry dude, i can't understand your question. can you elaborate?

I just meant that I think he had the right to complain about his minutes (last year) since he was basically getting Marcus Banks kind of minutes.

Or it could be he respects Dantoni as a good coach and realizes we are a good team and doesn't need to disparage the opposition heading into the playoffs.

The idea that Popp gives D'Antoni props is similar to how I (as a Sun Devil Football Fan) thinks the UofA should give Stoops an extension.

Did you just call Gambo and Ash? Someone just said the exact same thing. :)

I really don't care what Popp thinks. However, I know he has to respect the Suns after they took game 4 in the playoffs last season in SA and regained home court advantage. That could have been a huge win. Too bad the Suns were short handed on the front line in game 5.

yeah uldri(how ever you spell it) has played exceptional in every kings game I've watched this year. That's probably why they were content to trade bibby away. I can't believe SA just let him walk.....he also was picked up and released before the season by minnesota i think.

The Spurs have been trying to trade Udrih away for at least 2 seasons, with no takers. One is because he was never given the opportunity to play when he was with the Spurs, the second is because he was still making rookie mistakes his 3rd year in the league.
Sota wanted to take him on, but were out of contract spots. The Spurs had to give him away to avoid paying the luxury tax.

maybe Pop was being sarcastic with his comments?

Nahhh, Pop knows that any coach that can beat his spurs 2/3 is pretty good. Pop also knows that it could have been 0/3 or 3/3 as well with a few breaks either way. I seriously doubt that coaches look at each other with the kind of distain the fans do. Coaches know that the difference between winning and losing can be small, a little better execution can make all the difference. I am also pretty sure that Pop knows that fans can be plain unreasonable in their second guessing, bet he's been there himself.
