Does he have other visits scheduled prior to that?

The Buffalo Bills had a thread that said Porter was visiting this week, but they couldn't confirm it. SOmething about their DC having a connection with Porter. Everyone is calling for the OP to be banned cuz it can't be confirmed.

So yeah, I don't know :)

working for the Cards:

1. Whiz is a known quantity
2. Porter is from California
3. He is tight with Clark Haggans

screw it, lets just sign porter, foote and witherspoon.

You know depending on Hayes long term health, yeah I would try to get all three, wouldn't have to worry about ILB in draft or wait until late in the draft.

OLB - Porter / Brown
ILB - Hayes / Foote
ILB - Witherspoon / Haggans
OLB - Hughes / Davis

That is one scary looking LB corp.

RT @Adam_Schefter: Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt was in Pittsburgh with Joey Porter, as was Arizona LB Clark Haggans. It's like a homecoming for Porter.

It was reported Sal Cappaccio said this on Sirius radio but looks like he is now saying he knows nothing about it. Good. Hope we are the first stop.

And we are talking all people who can be effective in almost any situation. That sort of rotation would be constantly fresh and disgustingly effective IMO.

EDIT: lets not leave Stevie Baggs out just yet either!

Foote, Porter, and Rhodes might just be an upgrade to Dansby, Rolle, and Okeafor.

What blows my mind is we all know we have a problem with the defense giving up too many big plays for the last 2 years. We had to make a change, and yet people hit the panic button when Rolle/Dansby left. This is likely going to be a blessing, and quite frankly it isn't even a blessing in disguise.

As long as the Cards bring in better players. If all they do is bring in other teams junk just to fill a roster spot then no it isn't a blessing in any form.

I personally don't see Foote as being an upgrade over Dansby. Just another Steeler cast off that even the woeful Lions don't really care that much about.

True but I see him as an effective stop gap until McClain or Witherspoon is ready.

And after year one I think either of those guys on this team would be better then Dansby, yes. Thier ceilings are sure quite a bit higher.

I think Foote is much better suited to play inside in a 3-4 rather than MLB in a 4-3. I don't think he's athletic enough to play MLB in a 4-3 and the Lions have a young player in Jordan Dizon that they are apparently high on. Might as well rebuild that D with young players. I don't think he is an upgrade over Dansby either because he is limited in coverage, but he should be good against the run.
