Nope, I'd think about Jamie Martin, or a flyer on Flutie as a backup

How 'bout Warner, Kitna, or McCown. McCown is as good as gone, but Kitna would be a good signing.

I'll pass on Jeff Blake.

I am assuming Brees is not available.

I don't know much about this guy, but I'd like to see what he can do. Had him in Madden last year, I know not an indicator of anything, and he won 3 SB's with the Cards. He was never given an opportunity to showcase his skills playing behind Favre. Wouldn't cost much and at worst would be the 3rd string QB.

The best available QBs are the ones that get cut for cap reasons.

These guys could be available:
Patrick RAmsey
Kerry Collins
Aaron Brooks
Brian Griese

Please oh please do not let us start another new QB again next season. At my age I can hardly remember who was the QB last year and now we talk of drafting another???

Both Rosenfels and Wallace are from Iowa State. Maybe if we pick one of the two up Oliver Ross would be more inclined to block for them...

I like Seneca Wallace. He's a RFA so it doesn't really matter.

Chris Simms reminds me of a less mobile Josh McCown--maybe a little more talented but not much. His YPA is not much better and he rarely takes any shots downfield.

If I had to choose between the 2 I would keep McCown because he knows the system and if familiar with the players but I honestly wouldn't want either one.

Isn't he in his 30's and looked like garbage last time he played? Please explain the like for him unless you are talking as our 3rd string guy.

I posted somewhere else ..........Jon Kitna. In his last 2 seasons as a starter he threw 41 td's , 31 ints. and completed over 60% of his passes. He's not a small guy either at 6'2' and 220 lbs. He lost his job because of a kid named Carson Palmer.
We need a guy that can step in and take over if and when Warner misses any playing time. We can't afford to be in a position to just "forfiet" any games.

Didn't Kitna lose to the Cardinals that year? The 3-13 Cards? No thanks.

I like Ragone but he's a RFA. This list contains a lot of guys who would make a very good backup but no one who would push for a starter spot. If we draft a project QB (rnds 3-7) we should bring in one of them for insurance purposes.

Considering Palmer looks like he just hurt his knee, there's a good chance he goes off the market

Besides I don't see Kitna in a rush to be our 3rd string QB

No they were 8-8 but you don't really think he had that much to do with it do you?

People complain about Jake Plummer and Josh (not you shane) making stupid mistakes... anyone remember that dumb pass that Kitna made against the Broncos a few years ago? The Bengals were backed up inside their own 20 yard line.. Kitna while in the grasp for a sack tried to flip the ball forward to Corey Dillon and the ball was intercepted and run in for the game clenching TD! Absolutely one of the dumbest things I have ever since on a football field besides Jake brain fart play. STAY AWAY FROM KITNA!!

I like Simms, who played a good game yesterday and showed some mobility on his TD run. I am also a fan of Garrard because of his mobility, see Card's game and how he has played in Leftwich's absence. I feel that QB and O line would not be the way to go Round 1 because either would make an immediate impact. I would resign Warner because of his familiarity w/ the system or go after either Simms or Garrard if he leaves.
