I disagree with Edwards. He is known as "Captain Checkdown" amongst Bills fans. His cons are he has trouble reading defenses and throws to the first receiver open, who is usually the one in the flats. His release is rather slow and his durability is in question (just ask A-dubb).

He does have a big arm I'll admit, but he has not honed his talents since being in the league.

They have had some good receivers in Buffalo. Lee Evans, James Hardy, Josh Reed and even T.O. With that corp, there really is no excuse for his struggles.

We are talking about the same guy that was benched for Fitzpatrick

Actually before the game in Arizona last year, I remember nationally everyone was touting him as the next big thing with the requisite arm strength and intelligence to be the Bills QBOF. Then AW happened.

Keep in mind the offense that was being run in Buffalo as well. "Captain checkdown" seemed to be a product of the personnel and offensive playcalling. He seemed to have his confidence take a hit this past two years but listing skill position players doesn't mean he was underperforming. Conversely can you name anyone on their offensive line? It was one of the 5 worst in the NFL. Throw in the weather and lame duck coach and its no wonder he could never recapture his early season success last year.

Trent Edwards coming here would be the best case scenario IMO. But I am bias. I take the Pac-10 QB >>>>> every other conference's QB's as a general rule.

Jason Peters was there for Edwards' first two years as a dominate blind side blocker. I admit the variable of having a lack luster o-line could be a contributing factor, but look at the other offensive talent that has done just fine around him. Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, the aforementioned receivers. They are all talented. Also, being benched for Fitzpatrick does not give me the capability to give him a glowing recommendation.

As you know brother, I am biased towards PAC 10 players too, but that also makes me more apt to analyzing both pros and cons of each player.

It's all water under the bridge because somehow someway, Nick Foles is going to get drafted by the Cards in the upcoming years and throw for 6,000 yards 75 TDs and 1 INT his rookie season :raccoon:

Jason Peters has never been a dominate blind side tackle. Over the last three years with Buffalo and Philly Peters is one of the most penalized starting tackles in the game. Add that on top of the fact that he is also one of the worst in terms pass attempts per sack. The guy has had one decent, not great, season his whole career. Philly may be starting to already regret their decision after they saw first hand the goose egg he put up in 2009.
