I sure hope we're on the phone with Kelly-Miss. St., McNeil-Aub and Richardson from Arkansas. Those 3 could make our team IMO.

Clabo looks nice too, I see him as a Tackle though, not a guard. But he's not mean like our other 2 lineman picks, so maybe Denny doesn't like him. =)

In the past we have done well as far as getting in-state players as UDFAs so it wouldn't surprise me to see one of these UA players coming in.

Farmer is immensely more talented and has more of the NFL RB build than Geathers.

Jolivette might be worth a look also, as he was once rated pretty high among CBs in his class.

Either way, if Farmer or Jolivette don't change their attitudes neither will make it past first cuts.

I really like Grant Wiley, Geathers, and Richardson. Of course my man Clarence "point a gun" Farmer...

I bet the phonelines are burning up.
Sometimes you can find a gem. DG found a pro-bowl S as a UDFA. Rare but it can happen.

I'm sorry to say this because I know what his family meant to the game, but Jarett Payton is not a very good RB. Passing on a more talented runner such as Farmer for Payton would be a mistake.

I don't know why we're not bringing in a DB. We have absolutely no depth in the secondary after Renaldo Hill. Perhaps the front office is working on getting McKenzie or Donovan Darius.

If we didn't bother to draft a DB... why bring in a UDFA?

No depth! You may not be happy with it, but here they are:

Starters: Macklin, Starks, Jackson, Wilson

Backups: Hill, Rhinehart, Goss, Tate, Harris, Carter, Joyce, Lucas, Stone

Yeah, after Hill none of the backup players are worth a damn.

Perhaps... it's your opinion... but to suggest that some guy who hasn't been drafted is somehow better is pushing it.

I never said anyone we would bring in was going to be better. I just thought Green would like to take a look at a couple more DBs considering with the exception of of our starters and Hill, none of our DBs have shown any of us anything at the pro level (a couple starters haven't shown much either). Maybe they're pursuing a trade, waiting for June 1, or maybe Green sees something in a couple of these guys that I don't. Time will tell.

I disagree. Justin Lucas has never played bad for us. When Tillman was injured a few years ago, Lucas stepped in and didn't miss a beat. He's even scored a defensive TD for us. He's a good backup safety,

I just read on the official site the Cards could only sign 4 UDFA that brought them to their training camp limit...they didn't release names yet but it was a safety, tight end, wide receiver and running back.

This may be the smallest amount of UDFA's I can ever remember them signing. Normally they seem to have around 10 or so. I guess they feel we have enough and adeuqate training camp bodies.

With those 4, all the roster spots are taken. We won't be taking on any more players without getting rid of some we already have.

Here are my 4 guesses....

S - Brandon Everage
RB - Ran Carthon
TE - Ben Utecht
WR - B.J. Johnson

I really like Jason Geathers as he could step right in as a return man. He also can play RB or WR and is a good sized target at 6'2.
