Some of you keep forgetting something......we are the Cardinals. Who we draft and where doesn't have to make sense to anyone. We simply make a pick and use "Cardinal logic" afterwards to try and justify it, very much like last year's 1st pick.

Stop using reason when guessing what the Cards are most likely to do.

definitely happy on offense, but the D moves, still not thrilled

Look at it this way. The money had to come from somewhere, (cap wise). I am sure the Bidwills would have spent whatever necessary to do this, but we had to get back under the cap, and this was the 'best' way to do it. Our D will still be stout, (better against the run), less so against the pass, because of the loss at safety, even though our corners got better and deeper. We still have a chance to help the safeties in a draft deep in safeties. That help may not come immediately, but it should come from mid-season on as the rooks get experience at this level. Overall we are a much better team than last year.

where ARE we at in regards to the salary cap? I still wish we could have kept Rhodes. I understand the AW move (as much as I hate it. But Graves dug us into a big hole). Just not cutting Rhodes. We weren't overpaying, and he was playing pretty damn good football these past couple years IMO

My question is what if the coaching staff decides Lane Johnson is a better player than Levi Brown? With Johnson`s potential and continued progress maybe the Coach decides Lane Johnson is better than Levi in the near future? Could be draft LJohnson now and train him now and start him later this season.Trade Levi and his salary elsewhere.Could be a option also.

BA has said that it is his style to throw his young guys out there. So to me they won't be drafting anyone with the #7 pick if they don't think he would be ready to start week 1. Going off of this I would think that Warmack has the edge here because he will be ready to start immediately as well as the fact that he also has tremendous upside.

Brandon, Taking Palmer in free agency almost guarantees that we take an OL with the #7 pick. The staff has to solidify the OL to protect him, and either Warmack or Lane Johnson should go far toward doing that.

This draft is deep in safeties, and we could take SS, Matt Elam of Florida in round two. He is athletic enough to walk up into the box to threaten the run, then drop back into coverage with nobody over the top on the same play. He also has a knack for making big plays at critical moments in the game. He could be our replacement for A-Dub.

In round three we could take FS, Phillip Thomas, a big hitting/wrap-up tackler, who has top closing speed, and is a strong, 'hands-catcher', who plays with a mean streak. He moght replace Rhodes, (maybe not right away, but possibly midway through the year. By mid season we may have solved our safety AND our OL problems.

Our FO was very adept in free agency, and I have no reservations about them being the same in the draft.

Just to rattle the tea cup a little - If Dion Jordan and Johnson or Warmack were still there at #7, would you pick either OL or would you snap up the edge-guy, Jordan?

For me it's Jordan. Our secondary improves greatly with a better pass rush.
