After sleeping on it, I think this was a really nice game. I don’t think we’ll have Murray after next year and don’t look for him to get any better. He is what he is but he played well enough to give us a chance to win. For our young core to go into a totally raucous playoff environment with the playoffs on the line for the Rams and stand their ground and play to the end was huge. It’s not like you can get that experience in any other environment. And the draft pick does matter. That time we missed out on Mahomes by one pick. Anyway, I’m pleased with this game. It didn’t waste my time.

Fought hard...sweeping the Rams would have been something to build on...loss is a loss...on to the 49ers and then a long offseason :(

I'm just grasping at straws about getting a 'better' draft pick, really. No one really knows if a 15th overall pick or a 17th overall pick will be better anyway. It took me two hours to get to sleep with my brain replaying that last play from offense, so I'm looking for any aluminum lining right now.
Draft slot isn’t about landing the better player. The draft is an inexact science. It’s about having more choice. More choice allows you a better chance to land the player you believe will have more impact on your team. Thus every single incremental higher slot in the draft is more valuable than each lower. Just because someone hits on a better player lower in the draft doesn’t make those two slots equivalent value.

Couldn't agree more. I hate losing, but I'll feel better about it come Draft Time. NO DOUBT in my mind that our future is better than the Rams, and we're a good pass rusher away from being a playoff team. Even with a healthy Conner we would have won by double digits. Play calling has to improve, but we are in much better shape since Monti arrived. IMO, a night and day difference, even if this loss hurts. A lot.
Ah the annual “I’m sure our future is brighter than the rams” post. Which never occurs.

These posts are like the homeless guy on the sidewalk with “The end is nigh” sandwich boards. I guess eventually they might be right.

Since we are in the SECOND year of the Ossenfort ERA, I think it's kind of early to be talking about the ANNUAL. But if it makes you happy. So. I'll just add that I think that the Cardinals are in better shape (speaking of the future) than the other three NFC West teams. JMO.

Yeah I thought that in like 2021, but I realized McVay and Snead are a better coach/GM combo than the Cardinals have ever had, and they've shown that they will make the shrewd moves to put their team over the top to win it all.

Trading for Von Miller and OBJ helped them to win a Super Bowl. Keim could have done the same but didn't.

It may be the second time during the Ossi era, but we’ve been hearing the rams comeuppance is just around the corner every year for YEARS around here. Yet they always seem to be a step ahead of the cardinals. You can set your watch by it.

Yes, they sold their soul for a Super Bowl and would suck for a long time etc etc. Yet here we are.
