I will start it off. I usually like doing one post Senior Bowl, Post Combine, and Pre draft.

I know I am going to get some flak for some of the picks or not selecting a certain position high enough but here it goes.

Boldin Traded to Pats for #44 and 2011 5th rounder.

#26 - Terrance Cody - NT - Let the jokes begin. But Mount Cody is actually more active on the field then people give him credit for. Ted Washington's illegitimate son will make Dockett better, Campbell better, Hayes better, and most importantly he will make whoever takes over for Dansby better. I have no doubt his weight will be kept under control under this regime of coaches like they have with all the other players on this team.

#44 - Sean Weatherspoon - WILB - His shorter stature, short arms, and a late 1st round and early 2nd round run on pass rushers and WR's drops him to us. Bowman coming out early helps us as well. Does everything well despite his height and short arms. Very vocal leader, could fast become a leader on and off the field.

#58 - Dennis Pitta - TE - Matt is more comfortable in the pocket when he knows there is a TE out there he can trust. Pitta is without doubt a TE he can trust in the passing game. With surprisingly growing blocking skills over the years. Still not a standout at it but he is getting better every year and showed a willingness during senior bowl practices. Should go well in what I think will fast become our most used, the two TE set with the more well rounded Patrick on the other side.

#89 - QB - Jarret Brown - QB - For a kid who didn't receive all that great QB coaching in college he has a very solid set of mechanics, footwork, and field vision that any QB coach would like to work with. Still likes to run out of the pocket to fast but at least he isn't looking to run for yards he still tries to find a guy down field. Plus he still doesn't know how to step into his throws though which makes his stuff sail.

4th rounder - OLB - Lindsey Witten - I can hear your grumbles through the computer screen. No pass rusher OLB until the 4th round, you are crazy. Let me explain myself. There is a reason we drafted Will Davis and Cody Brown, because Okeafer and Berry would be leaving in 2010. Coaching staff already had that contingency plan executed a year ago, and they will now see if it works, they have more faith in those two guys then I think the fans realize. So yes we wait until the 4th round to grab a OLB prospect and college teammate of Cody Brown to boot.

5th rounder - CB - Brian Jackson - 6-2, 205 pound CB. Good physical player with ball skills. Should play well in any scheme that uses zone, and I think he would do well in the cover 3 zone that we use often. Not a man coverage guy though unless he can play press man with a S over the top help.

6th rounder - OL - Brandon Carter - Could drop because he has only ever played in the unusually large splits of the Texas Tech OL. But at 340 pounds and possibly decent feet he just seems like the kind of project Grimm likes to tinker with.

7th rounder - Boris Lee - WILB - I like this kid out of Troy. Smart athletic player.

7th rounder (possible comp pick) - O'Brien Schofield OLB - Tore his ACL at the senior bowl practices. Top 4 round talent who had a really bad break. This is a pick that we hope pays dividends in the future as he will sit on IR for the 2010 season.

I don't watch enough college ball to have any strong opinions, but watching the Senior Bowl, I get the impression that there is a lot of solid talent on the "D" side this year.

So, with that in mind, why not trade Boldin for two additional picks in this year's draft?

Could we possibly get a #2 and #4?

(Six picks inside the top 128 could certainly stock the team for year's to come)

I think you are right. It also might be possible to get a 2nd and 4th but to be honest I looked for the highest possible 2nd rounder I think we could get instead the 2nd and 4th getting a lower 2nd rounder, because I just had to justify getting Weatherspoon in the 2nd round.

Joe - you like Pitta better then Gronkowski as a prospect or he isn't available at #58 in your minds eye?

Graham has looked unstoppable as a pass rushing OLB....tackles good as well.

QB LeFevour (that most dissed on this forum) looks better than Tebow.

Starting to think, we'd be lucky to get Sean Weatherspoon - WILB - at #26.

Good looking Mock. I love the Weatherspoon, Pitta, and Brown picks. I would prefer Dan Williams over Cody if I had the luxury of choosing.

Using the Joeschmo trade, here we go...

26-Brandon Graham - OLB/DE - This is an impact guy off the edge that can get to the QB and set the edge. I liked Dan Williams and Terrance Cody here as well, but I want an impact player from my first rounder and this guy is it.

44-Sean Weatherspoon - ILB - This guy is a leader who seems to make plays. He took leadership at the Senior Bowl, and backed it up on the field making plays in the running game, passing game, and on special teams. Throw out the size issues, this guy seems to better to fill the cliche of a "football player."

58-Cam Thomas - NT - While not being the dominant presence that Cody and Williams were, this guy looked pretty good. Stout in the middle and showed power pushing the pocket.

89-Garrett Graham - TE - This guy seems to be solid all around. He is stout and willing to block. He gets decent separation and catches the ball. He also seems like a hustler. Not sure that he becomes a stud in the NFL, but he looks to be a solid option at TE.

4th Round - Chris Cook - CB/S - Good size/speed guy with potential position versatility. Good size to cover in the red zone. Might be better players falling to us here, but I like what he could provide our defense in terms of physicality in the secondary.

Past this, I really don't know. I liked Boris Lee out of Troy as well. Both Zac Robinson and Jarrett Brown flashed skills at the Senior Bowl, but i don't know where they will end up in the draft. Alex Carrington, Chris Cook, Cameron Sheffield and Jeff Byers all seem to have the versatility to contribute as well.

Sleeper:
Trevard Lindsey - CB- Good production for the first couple years in college, but struggled after an injury filled senior year. Did not show great at the Senior Bowl, but has good size and speed. Has shown that he can make plays in college, and might develop with better fundamentals.

another take

1 Terrence Cody - The man is huge, we know, but that was a pretty nice spin move and words are he is a legit athlete even at his size. The dude can dunk at 370+, thats impressive; and he says he can do a backflip. If he can move at that size, I say let him. Everything I hear has people mentioning how every stage he has gotten to everyone thinks he needs to cut but he ends up being fine at his size, maybe it happens again?

2 Brandon Lang - OLB from Troy, ridiculous number of QB pressures with solid sack numbers as well. He helps us get to the QB, making those CBs not look as bad.. hopefully.

3 AJ Edds - 2nd best coverage ILBer in the draft after Witherspoon from what I've seen, and he will take Dansby's spot and start from day 1.

4 Myron Rolle - plays in our 3 safety big nickel packages. He is a stout run defender and word has it he is a much better athlete after his year off. He would be excellent in film study and is a true character guy, something we value. Note, this is assuming we cannot reach a deal with Rolle and release him.

5 Tony Moeaki - Big and Athletic TE, with good hands and a matchup issue with his speed. This draft is deep in TEs and I don't see u leaving the draft without one. I chose Moeaki, but I could see any of Mccoy, Gronkowski, Pitta, Moeaki, Hernandez and Dickson being a Card next year.

6 O'brien Schofield - See Joes mock for the backstory, I take him in the 6th as his situation parallels Jack Williams a couple years back who was taken in the 6th.

7 Chris Scott - Lineman from Tennessee who was a 3rd team All American this year. Struggled along with the entire offense his junior year, but had a solid soph year and bounced back this year. He is a mammoth and a suitable Grimm project to replace the Keith role on the bench. He's versatile too, able to play G and T which will be big as he will be a backup. Also considered Kevin Haslam from Rutgers another versatile Lineman, more athletic than the huge Scott though.

No QB - We bring back BSP and sign a backup or bring in Batch, get rid of BSP, and bring in a new 3rd string.

Regarding the O line, figure we don't resign Gandy. Move Levi over for a starting 5 of Levi-Wells-Sendlein-Deuce-Keith. As Joe has mentioned, with Keith we had him play OT his rookie year, OG his 2nd year, and now I'm guessing he moves into the starting position at OT. I think Herman Johnson will do the same playing G next year and moving in to replace Wells after he leaves following 2010. I wonder if they see Deuce as a long term solution or not, if not, I would expect that HoJo will be the long term RG and Wells resigned.

There are good FA FBs out there - Kreider, T Smith, Richardson, Griffith. No reason to use a draft pick.

I don't see us drafting a WR even if we trade Boldin, maybe a UDFA.. possibly Onrea Jones? I don't think we'd use a pick on one though.

Note I'm also assuming the Steelers franchise Hampton or else he would be a top priority for us in FA I'd figure and the Cody pick I'd swap to Brandon Graham.

Also, not sure where people think John Jerry will be drafted, but he is another guy I could see us targetting. Big, agile, strong puncher.. sounds like a Grimm type of lineman to me. I don't see him having any OT versatility though, hence I didn't have him in the mock as we are drafting for backups on the line.

Also don't see us drafting a CB, I think Toler challenges for and wins the starting job from BMF who plays the big nickel until they are ready to trust Rolle.

QB LeFevour (that most dissed on this forum) looks better than Tebow.

That isnt saying much. Besides one throw LeFevour looked pretty below average. All of the QB's didn't show much of anything. Pretty disappointing group as a whole.

Speaking of another group that disappointing as a whole, the OL. Everyone talking about that Iupati kid and he looked like the run of the mill average OG. I don't even want to talk about the OT's because they don't deserve to be talked about. Didn't like them during the practices either. Wouldnt take a one of them anywhere in the first 3 rounds. Trent Williams backing out in going at the lst minute really lost an opportunity here. If he played even average he would have looked like an all star comparably and raised his stock. I don't know why he didn't go but I suspect he didn't go because of the pass rushers who showed up. 9 sacks allowed in this game and plenty of pressure. It was no wonder the QB's looked very below average. Think about it, 9 sacks allowed and a ton of pressure in a game where you are not allowed to rush more then 4 players in any given play.

Thought Williams would go before #26. Although I think I would still take Mount Cody.

1. Sean Weatherspoon, inside linebacker.
I absolutely love Weatherspoon. His personality, his leadership, his intensity, his love for the game and his abilities on the field. There is no way I would risk loosing him, by letting him slide to the second round, especially since their is some team at the end of the first that might snatch him up.

I think Weatherspoon could be a great replacement to Dansby. Some thinks he might be too small for an 3-4 ILB, but really, if you look at some of the best ILB in the game, they are about the same size.

2. Jerome Murphy, cornerback.
I believe Murphy is a diamond in the rough. I like his psysical style, and I do think he is pretty good in coverage, though he would need some coaching up there. DRC and Toler will probably start anyway, so Murphy will have plenty of time to pick up his game.

3. George Selvie, outside linebacker.
Players who underperforms in their senior year always makes me think twice about drafting them. But this is what Whis do. He picks these underachievers, who falls on draftday do to the very same thing, and then he somehow makes them live up the their potential. He did it with Alan Branch, he did it with Calais Campbell, he did it with Early Doucet and, to some extent, he did it with both Herman Johnson and Will Davis.
Selvie really could be special, and I think this coaching staff could get the best of him.

4. Matt Reynolds, offensive tackle.
Maybe Reynolds needs to be a guard at the next level, but I do think he is a pretty decent prospect. In a year or two he might be able to hold the left side, which by the way not is Leinart's blindside.

5. Jimmy Graham, tight end.
I was impressed with Graham in Mobile. As a former basketball-player he can jump very high, catch the ball pretty good and is rather athletic. I think he would be a good compliment to Ben Patrick.

6. Taylor Price, wide receiver.
This is one of the really good special teamers in this draft. Price could potentially return the ball all the way every time he gets the chance. Last time this team selected a wide receiver to return punts, they ended up with Breaston. That's not so bad.

7. O'Brien Schofield, outside linebacker.
Really could be some sort of joker in this draft. He is way to talented to slide this far, but an ugly injury during Senior Bowl probably caused him to fall all the way down here. Some team will give him a shot though. After all, it is the seventh round, so to get a player who might be on the roster a year from now is a good thing in itself.
If Schofield can get back to his own level before the injury, I have no doubt that this could be the steal of the draft.

I'm going to assume we trade Boldin for a 2nd and 4th from NE

1-Jermain Gresham,TE: Whiz can't pass on this enormous talent. He'd been a top 10 pick if he was healthy all year.
2a-Brandon Spikes,ILB: He's getting bad vibes right now but the guy performed on the field at Florida.
2b-Ricky Sapp, OLB:Elite athlete that will upgrade the pass rush immediately.
3-Cam Thomas,NT: He improved his stock at the Senior Bowl. He'd be a nice pickup in late round 3.
4a-Jevan Snead,QB:He has 1st round type talent but had a bad year. He would benefit greatly from good coaching.
4b-Chris Cook, CB: I said earlier he was the best guy in coverage i saw at the Senior Bowl. He's also a big corner that the Cards like.
5-Thaddeus Gibson,OLB:I keep seeing him rated as 4th or 5th round guy. That's alot of talent to be getting drafted that low. I'll take him in round 5 any day.
6-Ciron Black,OT: Classic Graves pick of guy who slides down in the draft. He started all 4 years at LSU. That tells me he can play.

McFadden is only signed through next year, we need to draft one to get ready after this coming season.

Like they did with Brown and Davis the previous year at OLB.

I would take that draft in a heartbeat. I don't think any of them will be available where you project them to be however. You'd have to get rid of Gresham and move everyone up one notch. Then it still looks OK.
Black is a 3=4th round project mtl.

Some good mocks all the way round so far. Some of you did some excellent research and solid reasoning behind your picks.

Looks like there will be 3 wild cards.

1. Boldin trade?

2. Are the coaches comfortable with some of the younger guys such as Cody, Will Davis, Toller, Keith, Herman, and a few others. I suspect they may be more comfortable with some of them then the fans may be.

3. NT and TE. A common theme in most fan mocks. Is either of those positions really seen as a position of need by the coaches?

1-?

2- I know I'm not comfortable with Keith probably protecting leinarts blind side. That'll be exposed at some point, or all points during the season. Maybe they'll address it in FA or move someone like Wells?

3- Probably not needs but preferences. They need to be upgraded. Leinart needs another outlet in the middle of the field, you acknowleged that in your mock. The question remains are they big preferences, say as much as OLB, ILB (Does Haggins move inside?) , OL, and CB? That makes six area's of focus still and that doesn't even count the project QB. I expect one of them to be addressed in FA perhaps.

If not then they move Boldin, IMO. It may happen anyway depending if there is any hope in negotiations to get something done. What does Miami have in the way of picks, to start a bidding war? I think NE will be wary of giving too much as they'd be renting him unless it's a sign and trade which may be a priority for Anquan in any deal reaced with this FO.
