Posting Pics directly on Threads

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but can I upload an image directly onto a thread cut-and-paste style from my desktop/hard drive? I've seen other users do it, but I have no idea how to do it myself.

Yes. You have to do it as an attachment.

Click the paper clip and upload the file from the browse dialog.

Okay, but will that just show as an attachment, or can I display it directly inside the text of the thread?

I'm attaching a random hard drive pic to this post. Let me see what I can figure out--because I'm a dummy.

If you upload the picture to a site like Photobucket, it will give you a link to paste into the text of your post, and then you can put the picture wherever you want,

You must be registered for see images attach

The problem with those is that a lot of people check the board from work and the pictures are blocked. Inserting them allows viewing.
