I am basing this on the assumption that we don't add a starting offensive lineman through free agency and we do take an offensive lineman with our top pick. Also, I am not including Colledge as an option for starter. Can't stand that guy!

Both Bruce Arians and Steve Kiem have said that the Cards will go with the best 5 linemen even if that means moving a tackle to guard. Both Levi and Nate Potter have been mentioned as having flexibility to move to guard if necessary. Potter seems like an odd choice, but if we are moving to more of a zone blocking scheme, he might be a good choice at one of the guard slots.

Scenerio #1: Cards select Chance Warmack

Option #1 Potter (LT), Warmack (LG), Snyder (C), Brown (RG), Massie (RT)

Option #2 Brown (LT), Warmack (LG), Sendlein (C), Potter (RG), Massie (RT)

Scenerio #2: Cards select Joekel/Fischer

Option #1 Joekel/Fischer (LT), Potter (LG), Snyder (C), Brown (RG), Massie (RT)

Option #2 Joekel/Fischer (LT), Brown (LG), Sendlein (C), Snyder (RG), Massie (RT)

I prefer this one since Potter has played G at the college level. Snyder did not play any worse than Sendlein, but appears to be more of a vocal leader. I would live with this line.

Option #3 Brown (LT), Warmack (LG), Snyder (C), Potter (RG), Massie (RT)

Like it! Brown and Warmack will be run blocking monsters!! Potter and Massie would give us an athletic right side of the line.

Something occurred to me late last night -

If we're all willing to give up on Bradley (& I'm assuming Lenon) to free up cap dollars in the hope of acquiring an unknown factor in the form of a rookie or FA inside LB...

Why wouldn't we consider letting Levi go instead to free up those cap dollars while relying on less of an unknown factor in Potter (possibly pushed or backed up by a draft pick)?

Jeff,

I am going to start a thread about this today or tomorrow. I am going to try and figure out, one more time how this cap thing works.

But, from my last attempt, and I am not sure how accurate it is, cutting Levi Brown would actually cost the Cardinals an addition 1.26 million against the cap. So, not would cutting Levi Brown not free up any cap space but it reduce the amount of cap space by 1.26 million. The same thing goes from Colledge and Snyder.

The only offensive lineman we can cut where we would receive space is Sendlien, who would free up a whopping 300k.

Again, the accuracy of this is questionable, but if I am the Cardinals, you cut Kolb, Bradley, and Doucet for a savings of about 6.7 million, and go from there.

Again, I will be starting a thread about this soon.

Oh Yeah!

Offensive lines:

You draft Chance Warmack:

2013 Offensive Line:
LT: Levi Brown/Nate Potter
LG: Daryn Colledge
OC: Lyle Sendlein/Adam Snyder
RG: Chance Warmack
RT: Levi Brown/Bobby Massie

2014 Offensive Line:
LT: Levi Brown/Nate Potter
LG: Chance Warmack
OC: Lyle Sendlein/Adam Snyder
RG: Senio Kelemete
RT: Levi Brown/Bobby Massie

You draft Luke Joeckel:

2013 Offensive Line:
LT: Levi Brown/Luke Joeckel
LG: Daryn Colledge
OC: Lyle Sendlein
RG: Adam Snyder/Nate Potter
RT: Levi Brown/Bobby Massie

2014 Offensive Line:
LT: Luke Joeckel
LG: Senio Kelemete
OC: Lyle Sendlein/Adam Snyder
RG: Levi Brown/Nate Potter
RT: Levi Brown/Bobby Massie

ou draft Jonathan Cooper:

2013 Offensive Line:
LT: Levi Brown/Nate Potter
LG: Daryn Colledge/Senio Kelemete
OC: Lyle Sendlein/Adam Snyder
RG: Jonathan Cooper
RT: Levi Brown/Bobby Massie

2014 Offensive Line:
LT: Levi Brown
LG: Nate Potter
OC: Jonathan Cooper
RG: Senio Kelemete
RT: Bobby Massie

My personal favorite: You draft Chance Warmack, and David Quessenberry

2014 Offensive Line:
LT:Levi Brown/Nate Potter
LG: Chance Warmack
OC: David Quessenberry
RG: Senio Kelemete
RT: Bobby Massie/Nate Potter

**** What it comes down to is if our current coaching staff gets some talent, and has a chance to trim the fat by next offseason where the Cardinals will actually free up cap room if they cut Colledge, Snyder, Sendlein and even Levi Brown (where this year they all would count against the cap except for Sendlein) we could actually have something that looks like a NFL caliber offensive line.

I am all in for a Potter - Warmack - Quessenberry - Brown - Massie O-Line combination.

Or if we want to maul the d-line.... Brown - Warmack - Snyder - Warford - Massie.

What about we take three O-linemen say Fisher Warford Quessenberry.

Fisher (LT) Warford (LG) Quessenberry (C) Colledge (RG) Massie (RT)

Tough to beat IMO. I don't like the idea of taking 3 olinemen in the first 3 or 4 rounds, but if you do its a complete 180 turnaround

Rugby if you look at the other thread regarding salary cap that discusses this you are correct, Levi cutting Levi this year would add to the cap. I posted a fairly in-depth post that covers this stuff.

Why does everyone want to replace Sendlein with Snyder?

Sendlein does a fine job, whereas Snyder is a dumpster fire.

The Best line Possible:

Fisher, Cooper, Sendlein, Brown, Massie

Sendlein is HUGE weak link. Tips the snap count and gets blown back by most tackles. Snyder at least can hold his ground and even drive some guys back. Snyder needs to stay at C and then add someone like Schwenke or Fredrick.

They're not that much different... they both suck.
Except Snyder has a contract we can't get rid of just yet.

I say we pick up a PROVEN VETERAN for the LT position. The Chiefs are most likely going to part ways with Brandon Albert. With the right FO moves, we can easily scoop him up.

Albert LT - Warmack LG - Snyder C - Brown RG - Massie RT

OR

Albert LT - Warmack LG - Snyder C - Massie RG - Brown RT

Snyder may be the weakest link here, but his productivity shall improve with solid support from the rest of the line.

Anyone else notice the sudden disappearance of Barrett Jones? He has been considered the #1 Center in the draft and projected to go in the late first. He's rated as #3 now according to Mike Mayock on NFL Network. Definitely should keep an eye on him if he slips.

Thats not remotely true.

check Profootball focus, Snyder graded out as the worst starting RG in the entire NFL last year.

2 years ago Sendlein graded out as top 5.

Im not saying Sendlein is some probowler, but jeez, how about we pick our battles here? Go find a replacement for a D+ player, or find a replacement for an F player.

My favorite thread. All of these possibilities look great compared to what we have suffered through for so long.

Guys quit dreaming of turnstile Brown playing OG cause its not gonna happen! If anyone listened to Keims interview on the Cards site a few days ago, he said its not likely to happen.

Personally, I think this team screwed the pooch by resigning him after he was cut! He's a mediocre player and will always be IMO :bang:

Or we can see how he plays in a new system. Keim said he wouldn't rule it out btw.

The return of tackle Levi Brown from injury alone will help the line, Arians said.
“It’s not as near the dire straits everyone wants to make it out to be,” Arians said, while Keim wouldn’t rule out a move of Brown to guard, noting that he expected Arians to find a working combination of whatever best five offensive linemen the Cardinals end up with.

Im Levis biggest critic, and I think he could be a great guard.

It does drive me nuts to hear fans, and now this coaching staff, say the line will be much better with Levi back. Thats like saying our secondary would improve if we could just resign Bryant Mcfadden.

Better than the 3rd stringer, but still pretty bad compared to most starters.

Fisher 1st round. Cooper (he wont be there) or Warford 2nd round.

After listening to the podcasts by Darren Urban of both Keim and BA, I'm convinced that Levi Brown will NOT be playing guard. BA specifically said he loves him and sees him as a LT or RT. And they frequently mention liking Potter and Massie when talking about last year.

If we take Chance Warmack, I think Levi starts at LT and Massie starts at RT.
If we take Eric Fisher (or Luke Joeckel), I suspect Levi moves to RT, and Potter competes with Kelemente, Snyder and Colledge for the guard positions.

I can't see them not playing Massie after all his progress. If they really like Brown that much I don't see them taking an OT with #7.
