Powers is playing his way out of AZ. Bethel did a decent job on Green on that final drive.

Yea, Brooks needs his chance. Get Bethel and Peterson out there and I bet the No Fly Zone will improve.

He had a bad game but he's more consistent than Bethel. Bethel had great coverage on the deep ball although he dropped it but there were at least 2 plays where on replay you could see him bite on something and let his man get by, luckily we were all over Dalton at that point so he couldn't find the open guy.

He has?

He has been sub-par and pretty much been the weak-link on the team, even more so than Minter.

Is there another team that ask its CBs to play m2m in the league? Probably about 70% of the time so I'm cutting him some slack.

He's far from as bad as most are making him out to be IMO. Many times he's got pretty good coverage & the perfect throw is made for a completion.

It isn't just his pass coverage. He couldn't make a tackle to save his life last night.

I agree but the last two games he has been peaking into the backfield and getting beat or playing soft coverage to allow the underneath route and then misses the tackle. At the beginning of the season he was playing with confidence and knocking balls down. I'm not sure how much of that is injury or game film on him.

A couple takeaways from the Browns game.

1) There is a big drop off from Powers to Bethel.

2) The Cardinals torched Brown's Pro Bowl corner Joe Haden who like Powers is nursing a bad hamstring.

The biggest problem I see with Powers is his lack of speed. Often he's in position & knows what's coming & guys run right past him. I think he will improve when it's $$$ time :D
He's been a pretty solid CB for this team for his tenure here

Last year of a contract is the ultimate definition of "$$$ time".

Powers was the #1 Rated slot corner in the entire league last year.

It is clear his Hammy is still not 100% healed. His last two games that he's been back have been ugly. I can't think of anything else.

If it's his technique then that's another issue altogether.

I'm fine with Powers in the slot, just not on the outside. Seems like Bethel has the same body type and speed +/- as PP21, and with some refinement, could be a great second option to Patrick.

Hell, he may have to take PP21's spot next Sunday.
