Some hitting going on, Larry has made some nice catches. Peterson dropped his third punt.

After the running backs contact drill Williams has his helmet off and ice on his right knee.

Javier Arenas. 105 punt returns for 1,029 yards 9.8avg. PP21 goes to CB and Wildcat 100%???

Arenas can also return kickoffs.

But how many punts are returned for TDs every year? The NFL went 8 years with no one returning more than 2 in a season and there have been 4 punt returns for TDs in a season by only 3 players since 1951 and that's why PP21's rookie season and what Devon Hester have done are so remarkable. PP21 had 0 TDs and under 9 yards per return last season.

Don't fumble and get back upfield 8-9 yards. That's a decent punt return.

PS: It was 13 years for a Cardinals TD on a punt return between Johnny Bailey's TD on a punt return vs Washington in 1993 and Steve Breaston's vs Pittsuburgh in 2007.

Heard Ryan Williams sat out most of practice with an ice pack on his right knee... Anyone who was there - can you validate??

Yeah he was standing on the sidelines with his right knee wrapped.

Some impressions from my first training camp visit this year:
  • Ellington has got some moves, looks to be an upgrade over LSH
  • They're going to use Peterson on offense a good bit and find ways to get the ball in his hands
  • They really do take lots of shots down the field and were successful
  • Michael Floyd looks like he could have a big year
  • What is up with Carson running the option???

A couple of observations from todays practice.

Palmer looks sharp. Stanton is serviceable,. Lindley at times sucked but made some nice throws at the end. TerBush only ran running back drills.
Palmer was practicing the read option.
Peterson was running with the offense as a receiver a lot.
Levi had two false starts that I saw.
Mendenhall looked good. Ellington looked really good.
TE's were catching a lot of balls.

I think they were happy to have pads on as there was some hitting going on.

I didn't focus too much on the defense but I did notice that CC seems very serious and was in a lot of players faces almost like another coach.

There you have it. :)

Floyd made several nice acrobatic catches

OL vrs Dline drills were right in front of me

Fanika was playing Gaurd, he stonewalled Dockett. Dockett didn't even get past the LOS the coaches were pumped
Winston looked good, didn't get beat
Massie and Potter both looked good, they each got beat once.

If I only had to give a few things that stuck out to me, these would be them..

Also I would add that #13 Jaron Brown made a few plays that made me go look up who he was.. Ok, Im lying.. He made some plays that made me ask O to look up who he was since he had the roster open on his phone.. Haha

Wait, I thought Arians hates the option with a fiery passion. They didn't really run it, did they?

I'm sure because the 49ers and Hags run it, along with some others on our schedule, BA wanted the defense to get some practice time against the RO.
