Does a draft pick who is cut by a team have to go on the 53 man roster of any other team who picks him up (other than the team who cut him)? In other words, if we want Buster back on the PS, are we the only ones who can do that? Would another team be able to put him on their PS before we could (a team "ahead" of us like the Raiders)?

if Buster agreed to be on their PS yes.....

once he clears waivers, he's effectively a FA

if Dungy came along and said "Buster, we'd like you to be on our PS, what do you say?" He can sign onto any teams PS that he chooses because once he clears waivers, he's a FA

normally guys sign back with their respective teams though

Another Related Question

I don't think so. I believe if a team raids another team's PS to sign a player, that player has to go on the new team's 53 man roster, but if a team signs a player off the waiver wire, that player can go onto the new team's PS.

My question involves the waiver/PS wire. If a team cuts a player and that player has to clear waivers before his original team can re-sign him and put him on the PS - does the player have to clear all 32 teams? Or just the teams with a poorer W & L record?

In other words, do the Cards have to worry about a Trannon or Holloway clearing all 32 teams or just the 7 teams ahead of them on the waiver wire?

>>>that's a good thought Jeff, but the only way we see Matt Trannon again is if he clears all 32 teams, which is simply NOT happening..

....keeping Morey and Euhus is embarrassing...Whiz is the man, but he has a lot to learn about the concept of "upside"....maybe SM can still help us on special teams, but he has not shown ProBowl-caliber skills this camp, and Trannon could become a force down the road....as for Tim Euhus, I just don't see the need for him AND Bieneman....ugh...

You are correct.

Jeff, you are correct as well but only when your PS is already formed. And Yes that players has to clear all 32 teams. I am worried about the Colts at this point in time for Buster. Thats if we even want him on the PS after Wiz very harsh words about him after the cut.

A couple years ago the Cardinals released Aaron Francisco in the early cut. The Jets picked him up then released him in their final cut and tried to put him on THEIR practice squad. Aaron had enuf of their B.S. and came back to Arizona and joined the Cardinals p.s. It was obvious what the Jets were doing, but their machinations didn't work. IMO, they are one of the sleaziest operations around. Just ask the Patriots.
