I know nothing about Tripkovic. Also, what does Gasols old finger injury have to do with it? Didn't that get fixed in 2009?

I found this video but have heard nothing about him in relationship to the Suns.

The Suns select #46 and #60. See azcentral article from Paul Coro.

I heard we were going to package them for a top 10 pick. And then, of course, we were going to sell that top 10 pick for a half mil.

Tripkovic isn't draft eligible so this is probably a tryout for Summer League or training camp invite.

In a van...down by the river.
Rumor has it this guy has been invited to our summer league squad. Former Euroleague All-pro DT Joe Von Shchleidenhaven
His weight has obviously been a concern in the past but the coaches like his motor, and claim he's got decent footwork in the paint. Supposedly the kid's a great lockerroom guy too....always prepared for morning practice armed with an epic feedbag for all.
I say give the guy a chance to be our PF of the future....

Well he certainly is not going to get up and down the court so I guess he is strictly a defensive player. The question is, can he occupy enough space under the basket to make opposing players just jump shooters. :)

Nobody in their right mind would take a charge on this guy.

Jerryd Bayless might, run 100 mph into him and shout out FOULLLLLLL. Then never hear from him again.

Tripkovic is terribly inconsistent, and probably the worst defensive player I have ever seen. Additionally, he is so skinny that he makes Goran Dragic look like Oliver Miller. I like the guy, he's played for my favorite European team for years, but I don't see him being successful in the NBA.
I can not describe just how horrible his defense is. He makes Amare Stoudemire look like Dwight Howard on defense.

I'd like to see Phoenix give Timofey Mozgov a call. His cointract situation is kind of complicated if I remember correctly, but he is a really interesting player.
Think Lou Amundson in Robin's body (well, a little taller and quite a bit stronger than Robin.)
Outstanding defender, rebounder, and a shot blocker, runs the floor as well as any big man I have ever seen, and is freakishly athletic for a 7'1 280lb guy.
Very raw offensively, but he keeps improving, and he is very good around the basket and on offensive rebounds.
I would REALLY like the Suns to look into him and his contract situation.
Lopez/ Mozgov would have the potential to be the best defensive Center tag team in the league. Just imagine a 7'1 280lb Lou Amundson- that's exactly what Mozgov is.

Another interesting prospect would be Novica Velickovic. He is a power forward version of Dudley. No athleticism, but good defense, amazing basketball IQ, great work ethic.

Just because we did well with Goran doesn't mean we should start building the next CSKA Moscow. Bryan Colangelo too often fell in love with Euros and it pissed me off. For every Dirk/Peja/Gallinari there are 10 Zarko Carbarkapa/Darko Milicic types.

We have 2 of the last picks in the draft basically. If they see some euro that they feel like taking a risk on, I think this year is probably an ok year to do it.

Yea, 7 foot white guys more often turn into guys who end up on the wrong end of posters than not. Let's not go All-Euro and get our asses handed to us on a nightly basis.

I'm not sure what to think about Euro's I've not seen play. I think there are some interesting free agents this summer, but I don't know how much the Suns can afford and what slots they need to fill

Obviously everything is up in the air until they decide on Amare and if they don't re-sign him, will it be a "sign and trade" situation. As bad as paying Amare "the max", I'm not convinced there is any way the Suns can deal without returning to lottery.

I have no clue about Fry. He's a home town guy, but MIGHT get a near MLE which would mean looking for others.

Amundson seems almost sure to go elsewhere. In an interview he said he expected to leave since the Suns plan on getting Clark into the rotation. IMHO the signing on Jones suggests they expect Lou to get a deal they can't afford to match. Of course if he doesn't, they'll be happy to keep him.

Assuming Lou leaves, I'd like the Suns take a look at Tolliver of Golden State. Except when he tried to block Amare, he looked pretty good. His stats last season with GS were intriguing: 7.8 RPG, 12.3 ppg and shot 76.9% from the line.

I like Tolliver as well. He is the type of player that would help the Suns. If the Suns move a player like Barbosa for a first round pick to save money, I like Morrow as well if he is a FA.

How does GS come up with these FA gems. The Suns should have been on top of getting Tolliver out of the NBADL with their need upfront. I still can't figure out why the Suns wanted Griffin on their roster. Even if he turns out to be a decent player the Suns were stacked at SF.

I think you'll find that Don Nelson has a long history of finding gems. He's not necessarily the best guy for devolping them, but has an eye for talent and has since he began. Look at all the guys D'Antoni forced out or refused and you get a really interesting contrast.

Actually GS will have a "clutter" of bigs this summer.

Biedrins
Ramonovic
Turief
Wright
Randolph
Tolliver - The only one without a contract this coming year.

Hoopshype has GS with 9 players under contract. Some of the guys who don't have a contract include CJ Watson, Devon George, Coby Karl, Mikki Moore, The Warriors have the #6 pick in the first round and the 4th pick in the second round.

IMHO, the Warriors won't fight hard to keep Tolliver.
