I don't understand why everyone thinks this is a great play by Clark. A poorly thrown pass by the QB is what made this play possible. If the QB puts it where it's suppose to be it's a completion and possible big gainer. Overall i think Clark played pretty well however this is not one to crow about.
He played great the entire game.

Nice come back win! I feel much better already about the O-line. Paris Johnson and Will Hernandez were solid. Josh Jones was solid when he was in as well at RT. Plus having Humphries and Beachum at LT give us four good tackles.

I think both Froholdt and Gaines played decent at center. Wilkinson was also decent at LG.

Clayton Tune looked much better in the second half. I’m looking forward to seeing him over the next two games.

You could tell the coaching for the defense was much improved. That alone gives me hope that we have a chance to be competitive. Rookie DL Dante Stills looks promising. I expect him to make the team from what I’m seeing. Zaven Collins looks better playing outside being turned loose to rush the passer.

I haven't watched the game yet. What did Simmons look like?

They kept him back in coverage. He played the whole first quarter and maybe into the second. I didn’t see him make any plays. He looked a little lost back there to me. I was hoping they would play him like an in the box safety and let him blitz some.

I'm still very cautiously optimistic, I mean it IS the Cardinals, but this was nowhere near a disaster like people were saying, not saying we'll win 10 games (I'm still at 4 or 5) but it was an encouraging 1st outing
Just be careful who on this board you‘re listening to. Lol. Lot of whiny characters that love to whine. But, being a Cardinal fan will definitely do that to you. I did like what I saw last night…..attention to detail, way fewer penalties, and more physicality. We will lose games this year because we have a tough schedule, not quite enough talent, and probably not deep enough. But, the effort will be there, and our young guys will improve as the season progresses. Excited to see this team improve, especially once Murray returns.

He’s played centerfield from day 1 under JG. That‘s now his permanent position. Barring injuries, I don’t foresee that changing.

RB is a weakness. I know Conner didn't start but those behind him did not look good. We need one that has some speed.

I’m hoping it’s just a preseason thing. So far he doesn’t look good but who knows. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a 6-4 free safety that had great coverage skills.

My keyword takeaway from last night - Competency.

First time in a long while (maybe since Arians) I've seen the Cardinals look like a pretty much solid-in-all-phases team. Certainly lacking elite talent in a lot of key areas, but they didn't look like a team that's going to fall apart every time the pressure gets to them.

You need to follow the team more closely. Reports out of training camp have raved about him in that position ALL camp. That’s his position & he’s looked very natural there.

Williams had 5.1 YPC

Clement was the weak link but it's hard in pre season because often these guys are running behind 3rd string linemen.
But they are usually running against third stringers too.

I liked seeing Williams break that run to the left and take the corner. But even in game it occured to me he was a bit too slow to make that same play against first team defenders.... we need a boost in the RB room.

I hope he does great but I’ll believe it when I see it. When the season starts we’ll find out how good he is. Last year he didn’t cover wide receivers very well. I think he will do fine against tight ends though.
